When going from one dynasty theme to another can I just flash over it? Like if I wanna come back to this from banana

i always wipe... with all the files that are getting changed, that's what i would suggest... wiping cache/dalvik should be fine...

i've had issues in the past with dirty flashing so i just make sure it's all clean each time i flash a theme!


i will say that all the files are the same with just the changes in colors... so you should get away with dirty flashing w/o issue!

lol... if i had more time to work on this stuff... i would def update it... not looking too good for updates even on the ROM i'm currently running... heck i'm still running stock look right now lol

only if the ROM is themed to run this... basically porting it over to whatever ROM you are using... and i'm not 100% familiar with the differences in GSM vs CDMA apps and which ones NEED to be themed for each... i have CDMA so that's what i know... hopefully you or someone you find will port it!?! i'll update the OP with that info if u do!

awesome themes! I just installed GCS on mine and HCS on my wife's nexus. For HCS, I downloaded one with a starry background but she wanted the one with a plain black background.

How would I go about changing the background? Can I download the other version...which one would that be? Or can I swap out one of the apks?

Thank you! It's simple to do if that's all you want to change...

1) create a solid black 480x800 png image.
2) open up my .zip file and go to the System/framework/framework-res/drawable-nodpi/background_holo_dark.png
3) locate the image (should be the first one) and just rename the black image you created earlier to the name you see there.
4) delete the image from the zip and copy the other one into that folder. Make sure you rename it BEFORE you put it in the zip or it won't flash properly.
5) add it to your phone and flash away!

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm having some minor trouble. I've swapped out the halo background dark for a plain black png but am still getting the starry image.

Everything seems to go normal 7zip updates the zip file and cwm recovery installs it no problem but its not the plain png...? This last time I wiped the dalvick cache but still got original background. Is there anything else I may have to edit?

The red background isnt bad...just thought it may be easy to play with it and tweek it a bit... but its not going as easy as I thought LOL

My instructions should've changed the background I'm the settings menu... Which one are you taking about? I used that image in 3 different places lol... it could just be another file in another apk

not yet... i've only ported one theme (GCS) so far and i'm almost ready to release "SCS" not sure if i'm gonna port these colored themes i have since there are a few options out there... i'd like to... but it's not priority right now! but we'll see!

lol touche... well it seems the porting process it pretty simple to do... the downside to theme chooser is i can't change all the font colors that i want and some images would need to be changed so it's not hard to read/see the words... we'll see... i just ported SCS and i might be doing another one soon... but i'm gonna have real limted access to a computer again lol

Will your themes work on Tabs--MDPI?? There are very few choices for them right now, and no good colored ones!!
