But couldn't one just rename the zip and place it in /TWRP/theme and that would work fine?

Of course, but providing a flashable zip prevents user errors and thus makes my life easier...

The zip I provide is basically a flashable zip (the filemanager) in a flashable zip (to make sure the file manager ends up in the right place).
So you'd have to rip the zip from the zip in case you want to install it manually...

Well I just downloaded them all to try lol :) nice job from pictures. Twrp had its uses for having those big buttons, but it feels silly everytime I went into recovery

Wait, the themes are not flashable, you must copy them. Only the Aroma FM zip can be flashed.

Yeah I knew that. I just used the file manager to swap out the ui.zip files.

I know this may not be related to themes, but is it possible for making the install take the usual left to right swipe, but also a swipe backwards?

Unfortunately no. The swipe gestures are not implemented in a way that I can use them at will to trigger actions (otherwise I'd use them for changing pages).

Currently swipe to right is baked into the confirmation slider, swipe to left is only used on the keyboard (clears the textbox).

All themes updated

All themes updated
  • added theme chooser to holofied settings
  • moved holofied settings into seperate menu (play, xda, multirom)
  • fixed position of progress bar on wipe pages (play)
  • added warning that formatting data partition includes /data/media (sdcard) to "EXT4/F2FS - Switch" (MultiROM themes)

How to use the theme chooser:
  1. copy all themes to your device (use internal storage if you have a device with micro sd)
  2. in holofied settings, go to "swap theme" page, browse to the theme.zip and select it
  3. confirm your selection (recovery will now copy the zip to the correct folder, rename it to ui.zip, then reload the theme)
NOTE 1: Reloading the theme will set all theme settings to default. Recovery settings will persist.
NOTE 2: Reloading the theme will sometimes trigger a recovery reboot (appeared randomly on Galaxy S3).
NOTE 3: On Galaxy S3 only, using the light theme will break things. I've spend hours trying to work out why, as it is working flawlessly on my other devices.
If you accidentally try it anyways, you'll likely get stuck in a recovery bootloop and won't be able to boot into system either.
Fix is: ODIN to stock recovery, boot into recovery, wipe cache.

Just stumbled across this. Great work. I didn't even know TWRP had a theme chooser. I must be on older versions. 2.7.0.8b

lol 2.7.0.8 is the latest one. but TWRP doesn't have a chooser per se. it's more like you take the theme zip into a folder and it automatically applies it

What pandasa123 said.

The theme chooser is a feature of the holofied themes. And it only works across those. It's meant to make it more easy for new users to find their favourite without manually renaming and copying the zips around.

OK, I knew you could make a theme folder and put ui.zip in it. I have that on my evo. But this sounded like something different. Will have to look at more later, at work now. Thanks guys

Thanks installed the black one. Everything working fine, but the splash screen did not change like in an image I saw in the TWRP thread.
The custom splash screen is part of the recovery image, it can't be changed via theme.

There are device specific threads for Holofied. There you can download the repacked recoveries. If you have a device without dedicated thread, you can create a repack for your device, the how to is in third post of each one of the dedicated threads.

Thanks for clarification. No thread for Moto X

Holofied Black TWRP 2.7.1.1 for Moto X:

- TWRP 2.7.1.1
- Splash Screen Holofied Black KK.

You have to use the Black Theme "720_black.zip" or "720_black_kk.zip" for TWRP 2.7.1 to make the rest of TWRP in Holo Black. Download links you find in the OT.

The flashable image file is packed into a rar file. Please unpack before flashing! I had to do so because of the img size limit of this forum.

Tested and working on my Moto X.
