Sorry just noticed this,,,did you get it working?

So I renamed the odex and original apps. Then copied the mms to the system/app and set permissions to rw-r-r and deleted everything in dalvik cache and rebooted and it just keeps replacing it with stock app I think. Even the icon in root explorer is back to the standard Green one

Question. Can you change the mms icons back to stock? Only reason I ask is on active notifications it displays blue and I prefer the all white.

I'd donate a dollar via PayPal either way so let me know your email address!

Hmmm good question,,,the non system apps yes,,,anything that is a system app like Mms or play store I would be careful but, you should be able to just rename the original apk to Mms.apk.bak then install mine. If it does not work then you can change it back and should be fine. Let me know what your trying to install and I can better help you!

How can I restore the stock messaging app? Do I just search and find a zip? I was ignorant and didn't make a backup.

Some of the font colors are hard to read ie how many characters I have left. This is only an issue because someone I know has a limited amount of incoming texts.

Again if we could tweak this a little bit id be willing to pay.

Yes, use a uninstaller app to completely remove mine and then load yours again, should have no problem. Sometimes when you just delete the app it may give you problems vice uninstalling it.

Then you did something wrong. I am sorry but, I get SOOOOO sick of the very few not listening and then making it seem like it is my themed app that caused problems. If you would have simply renamed your stock Mms.apk to .bak and then installed mine and not liked it and wanted to go back just delete my apk and the .bak from the original non-themed apk and your all good. Thousands have done if before. Remember you must be rooted and have WP bypassed in order to do all of this becuase of the system protection,,,,if you had to load all new firmware for a Mms.apk,,,you did not do it correct, thats you! Okay rant over, thank you!

second that request for stock mms because when i installed yours i had to re install my orginal firmware just get stock back.

at the risk of me wanting to not get banned im just going to say WOW man if you can handle people maybe you shouldnt post stuff like this if you have hard time answering stupid peoples questions. i did exactly what you said i can read english and follow english directions. so lets just say im stupid i dont follow your directions. are you saying all i need to do is delete your file like with file explorer etc or root explorer, then take my back up file delete .bak then move it into system app folder or install it like normal apk by clicking on it. because if i install it like normal apk it tells me app not installed.

Look at the OP! if you would have renamed your original Mms.apk to Mms.apk.bak,,,,then installed mine and not liked it,,,all you had to do was uninstall mine and rename your original back to Mms.apk. If you would have done that you would have been fine! I have never heard of anyone having to reinstall an entire firmware just to get an original Mms/apk back?? You do not have to move anything,,,you can leave the renamed .bak apk where it is that way you wont have any problems with reinstalling it. If your having other problems then let me know or PM me and I can help! Make sure you have the correct permission and have WP capability otherwise it may not stick. I am not trying to be an *ss but what I do takes a lot of time and I do it for free,,, to not even say thanks for the work, even though you may not like it, is part of the problem in android today.

I restored stock MMS from the kitkat ota file. Simply copy the apk and odex file from the zip into system/priv-app, set permissions and reboot.
