Themes on 4.2

It seems that no matter which 4.2 ROM I'm on when ever I apply a theme I lose the soft keys. They still work but just don't show up. Has anybody else had this happen? Is just a 4.2 thing that has not been worked out yet?

dont have this issue on any 4.2 rom, do you reboot after applying the themes?

Yeah I always reboot afterwards. But I moved on to 4.2.1 and I no longer have this issue. Thanks for your help though.
