You mean that you would prefer to always exit the app you are writing in to go to the destop or app drawer and launch SK every time that you want to change theme or one of the setting??

But I get why you're asking it: that button is what bugs me the most about that new ui. I wonder if anyone at SwiftKey has ever tried to use it in compact/undocked mode: a real pain to get this going... Even in normal mode, I find myself constantly swiping from the edge 4-5 times before succeeding pulling it out...

Why couldn't they just leave in the 123 btn long press as an option?

Whoever said was part of their official beta testing could ask them the question, I be really thankful.

OK! - end of O-T mini rant... - -

Re. problems loading many of the last update themes:

I have a strange feeling that we might still have a 9-patch resizing issues if so many themes weren't loading up. This awefully smells like the old low-dpi problem....

And since Thebear did successfully resize my problematic files before, I suspect that it is related to which M$ Windows is used to do it.

Why? because in the files that Bear gave, there were some Thumbs.db files in the folders he touched and to me, that screams WinXP....

So could this be all the new spacebars that didn't resize properly?

Anyone with a mdpi device that also had issues? And please, no need to make a list, but give at least one theme name that doesn't work. Thanks.

edit: Lucas' device is hdpi
The files i modified for you were done on win8.1 soon to be win 10 i believe. Lol, but i would agree with you that either the 9s were resized wrong or were done with an older tool or program that is not being recognized by swiftkey. It will be a huge task to redo every image in every theme to work correctly. If a list is made of which themes are screwy i'd gladly help out in trying to fix some of them.

Man, all those are broken on lower dpi devices? Gonna take me awhile to do them. Lol. It's tough because i can't test, i don't want to waste hours doing them and they still don't work.... I'll do the 1st 4 in the list tonite and pm you a test before moving ahead.

OK, I remember reading that you had a new rig but wrong guess about where those Thumbs. db files were coming from then. Sorry about that.

As per the resizing again, I'm on Win8 and I've tried just last week to recolor and resize down one of my popup using the resize app you sent me and altgough it successfully resizes the decompiled files (or compiled one as well -I think), I can clearly see that the alpha is off on the resulting smaller patch9s. So it's not compile/decompile isuue; it is something going on w resizing.

Win10: it brings Lollipop to my mind when comes to OS evolution. Nice new flashy additions, yet all more useful and futute-proof technological upgrades one another. But I don't need all that M$ crap shoveled down my___ (you choose most appropriate word) [their App store, cloud services, xbox stuff, and so on... and that list is a long one ...there will be what 200 running processes in a fresh Win10 ibstall?]. Anyhow, I don't wanna sound grumpy and b'ching about everything... end of corporation [nothing to argue with you here btw] rant #2. gg gl gn

I agree with your sentiment on windows 10, good thing about windows is you can always go back, or so far i have been able too. Hopefully it will not be an issue to gain administrative rights as it was with windows 8 or i don't lose my administrative rights. I'm sure it will take some getting used to, but coming from absolute no computer knowledge (win8 being the only windows i have ever seen) i'm not too worried about the update. I rarely use/see the windows main screen now anyways as i usually just go right into my root c after start up.

I'm presuming here, but since they've been working at some point, it means that it is what has changed that is the problem and that would be just the 2 spacebar pics....

... Just to save you some work in case that you were going to redo all the .9s' resizing...

yes, in the previous version they work without any problem, only Taintless, now don't work all that I tell

If you want, I can do one or two more spacebar height tests with regards to the various themes' left and right arrows sizes. Then decide if a slightly less elastic spacebar height (w kb size setting) is possible or not. A little more work into the left side patching. Then , when done, I'd go through the 36 spacebar pairs I gave earlier and resize them all.

I won't commit to the compiling and files replacing in of all the 4 new pairs of keys though - as I'll probably be a zombie by then.. I'd maybe need a day or two to do so properly as well....

Quite a few people including myself were very vocal about our disagreement with that change, especially with no option to revert it.

By the time it made it to beta testing, the devs had already invested too much time to turn back then. It is another example of their endless chase of making things better for the infamous new users at the end of the rainbow and the Holy Grail.
