Think I've bricked my Z5C!

So I've had my Z5C for a couple of days. Thought I'd try Sony's flavour of Android and having decided I simply prefer AOSP, I unlocked the bootloader, and started flashing AOSP 5.1.1 (found on this forum over at Original Android Development).

I flashed boot and recovery, and half way through flashing system my dog came running through the living room and managed to unplug the cable from my laptop. Now the phone's LED is a solid blue and it won't do anything.

I've tried holding down the power button from 5 seconds to 5 minutes and nothing happens.

When I plug it back into the laptop, it pops up a message saying the usb device has malfunctioned.

Am I screwed? Any suggestions? Should I kill my dog?

Can you get the phone to fastboot or flash mode?
Hold POWER+VOL UP to get to fastboot mode (solid blue led), or POWER+VOL DOWN to get to flash mode (solid green led).

Tried flashing stock ftf via flashtool?

Prepare the ftf on Flash tool.

With device off, hold volume down and plug the device in when flash tool prompts you.

Flashtool "should" detect your phone and flash stock firmware (note you will notice nothing happens on your device - the install is illustrated on the Flashtool interface, until prompted to remove the USB and power on the device.)

Otherwise this may or may not help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963961

If you can't restart or turn it off in anyway (that's what I gather is the problem?) you can try forcing it to restart by removing and re-inserting the sim card, that should trigger a hard reboot.

I ended up leaving the phone alone for a while, and now it's powering off. I've gone through the process of installing flashtool, preparing the firmware. And now I have a new problem. When trying to flash this is what it says:

26/031/2015 08:31:50 - INFO - Please connect your device into flashmode.
26/031/2015 08:31:51 - INFO - Opening device for R/W

I've followed instructions this to the best of my ability and not sure where I'm going wrong. I bought the phone unlocked in the UK so have selected United Kingdom - Customized UK (latest release 32.0.A.4.11 /R9B) in XperiFirm. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I've got further than this now after clicking 'check drivers' in Flashtool but now I'm getting this error:

EDIT 2: I ran the program in 64 bit mode and let the program run and go through the xperifirm process by itself, and it went through fine.
