I've had both. I have a Note 8, purchased the Note 10 +, I was trying to wrap my mind around it because to be quite frank, the screen of my Note 8 just was replaced fully paid by insurance because it had burn-in. Quite frankly, it's one thing to compare a Note 8 with nearly 2 years of screen usage versus one with a brand new new screen and a Note 10 Plus, it just wasn't enough of a difference to justify the 1700CAD that the phone cost me. It all came down to a 1700CAD flex, something I was not looking to do. I wanted a better phone.
Don't get me wrong, the screen was superior but ever so slightly. And, I don't take photos, it's not why I have a phone. Gaming and browsing is mainly why I have a phone, there was literally ZERO incentive for me to keep the Note 10 + vs the Note 8. So thankfully, I found out the RoG 2 was not only available for purchase in China, but it was half the price... I returned the Note 10 + and purchased the RoG Phone 2.
Man am I glad I did. The screen is honestly about as beautiful as Samsung's. The only thing Samsung's have over the RoG is that colors are slightly more vibrant. If you've ever compared a flagship Apple phone to a Note or S series from Samsung, imagine the color vibrancy to be somewhere in the middle so it's quite acceptable. As far as crispness, because the pixels move so faster, it honestly looks more crisp, and that is without taking into account the Anti-Aliasing toggle option in Armory for gaming. No matter what you do on your phone there is one thing that you will NEVER escape from and it is looking at it, so I gambled on that one factor that rules over any other phone and I assure you, at least from my standpoint, I don't ever see a reason to go back. The CPU/GPU are so overkill in these devices and contrary to what the market was 5-6 years ago, devs now make sure to support as many devices as possible (which makes sense) so I'd expect the chips to be seriously viable for the next 3-4 years easy. That's not to say I'll wait that long to change, most likely not but yeah, this phone is absolute overkill when it comes to it's power.
And so many features that makes this phone a killer option, Air Triggers, side USB-C, FM radio, Glove mode (which nearly turns the screen resistive), easy macro'ing in games (killer feature if gaming), etc....
I'll say one last thing, after 5 different Galaxy phones back-to-back, I miss OneUI because I was so used to it but with all the customizability that Android offers, it's a no brainer that there is a workaround for nearly everything other than the S-Pen, a very little sacrifice vs. all the benefits.
