Yes. The people that are doubting are absolutely correct. You see, Motorola included a MicroSD slot completely on a hunch. Google never promised support for it. In fact, Google straight up said they'll never support it. The executive teams of Motorola and Google get together weekly for Sunday brunch so that they can laugh at people who believe that Motorola included a micro-sd slot and actually have plans of using it. This taunting includes mock-crying. The weekly catch phrase is "what a bunch of dumbsh**s these Xoom buyers are". They even have a game where they associate forum posters with lolcats images based on how dumb they make themselves come across.

Some of you need to calm down and be patient. As pointed out by others before me, Honeycomb already sees the internal storage as the sdcard partition. This is NOT how it is currently on Android phones. Google needs to implement new code and functionality to allow Honeycomb to see what it will essentially consider two sdcard mounts. Then, software needs to be modified to allow you to differentiate between the two when interacting with contents.

Just remember this, if Motorola and Google waited until this was ready before releasing the Xoom, you wouldn't have your Xoom yet. And then, THAT would be your source of complaints. So instead of taking the time to find SOMETHING to whine about with the Xoom, why not accept that YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE GETTING AND ITS LIMITATIONS WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT so sit back, enjoy the awesome device that you have, and remember that it's only going to get better.

I have read this time and time again. But where are you getting your info? Who told you it would be updated?

The company pinned the blame on Google, calling the problem "a Honeycomb issue rather than a Motorola one", implying that it's going to affect any tablet that comes with microSD support. The fix, similarly, will come from Google, though it'll likely have to pass through the various manufacturers' QA testing -- potentially delaying its release significantly, if previous Android updates have been any guide.

You'll notice this is from February 11th. So the question you've asked here and on Motorola's website was answered months ago.

I'm planning on picking the wifi version up once I get my tax returns. I have no problems with the features not enabled yet. Even if Google never enabled the sd card support, I know XDA will. With something like the Ipad you'll never have those features. Also, there's no reason we wouldn't get an upgrade. It's running pure Honeycomb. No Motoblur, Sense, etc. So when Google releases an upgrade it will be compatible. Why would you think we wouldn't get an upgrade?

I just checked BestBuy's website and it still says CD/DVD drive not included. I think it is incompetent on the part of BestBuy. But that is not Motorola's fault. You should be complaining on BestBuy's website. Put a review in pointing out the fact that it can't support CD/DVD.
