This is like my 7th whitestone dome glass screen that has lifted from the edges!!

So these things are trash! They keep lifting off the edges about a month or so after a perfect install!!

I Have no joke purchased this 7 times!!!

Amazon luckily has sent me 4 of those free but the other 3 I had to pay for myself! I am doing nothing wrong. It is a simple mindless process in my opinion. Its the crappy glue that they are using that has to be the issue.

Does anyone know why this keeps lifting on the edges like this a 3+ weeks after install?!!!

Only thing I can think of is the glue didn't spread completely and it was to thin in that area. Sorry, you're having issues.
Thats what I think as well but its hard to assume this is why when it keeps happening and it only happens after 3+ weeks...

I also use my wifes UV nail lamp which is much more powerful and better than the one they give you for the whitestone dome. I leave it in there for like 2-3 minutes also.

Maybe that's the issue. Try using the one that came with the whitestone kit.

Hi This is Whitestone Dome.
First of all sorry to hear what you have to deal with. Like I said before we would love to support you best as we could. Right away for your problem.
To support you, please contact us to our email [email protected]
Here are 2 causes that we can guess for this happening.
1. Probably the glue didn't spread out thoroughly and it was weak in that area due to less adhesive. If you pressure that weak part too much it will lift. Since that part is where on-off button is.
2. As your comments on here, we could see that you didn't use our UV machine. It cause unstable wavelength and this can make weak part or cause lifting and bubbles.
Sorry that you have to go through this problem.

You actually gave yourself the answer already, you just don't realize it.

Look at it from an engineering troubleshooting perspective. (keep asking why until you get to the bare root of the issue)

What?
Product lifts on sides causing bubbles that you can't fix.

Why?

Because the glass is thick and exposed on the edges.

Why?

By design. Edges should be tapered, beveled, but would make glass far more fragile.

Fix?

Protect the edges of the glass protector.

"Thats the thing... I have no case.. Never have."

You don't have a case to protect the screen protector edges so it's getting caught/snagged on something. Pocket, purse, coat, etc.

You now have 3 choices.

Keep following same path and getting frustrated.
Get a proper fitting case.
Change screen protectors.

If you prefer your phone naked, you should choose #3. A suitable and cheap alternative would be to use the SAMSUNG screen protector for the S8+ model. It fits nearly perfect (1.5mm short on bottom), is hard plastic, comes in 2 packs and is VERY thin for naked use.

I chose #2. I have had 1 whitestone dome installed with proper fitting case since the very start and it's still very perfect.

What thing I figured out with my first install. I used to get very OCD with cleaning the dust of the edges. I would use alcohol to clean my phone. I forgot that alcohol breaks down and weakens the glue. Figured that out a little to late. Started having issues with the glass bubbling so I took it off and replaced it with a new one. Now I don't clean the phone excessively and when I do. I make sure not to use alcohol.

I've had the same with mine after only 3 weeks , i don't use cases and have a leather skin on the back (Slickwraps). I had a perfect installation and i was happy... for only 3 weeks. At this price it should last longer.

I've contacted them through the website and email multiple times and have had no reply.

I bought one, had the perfect installation, kept it in a pouch, never dropped it, no case. Seemingly for no reason it split right down the middle from the top of the screen to the bottom. 50 bucks flushed down the toilet. Going naked now.

I had no lifting and carried it without a case. Does that explain my screen protector splitting straight down the middle, or do you have another "theory" for that one?

You're absolutely right!

Just my opinion, a 50€ screen protector has to work with and without case! If not it is overpriced crap.

Mine bubbled when I used a compatible case. Whitestone did nothing when I contacted them. They replied once saying I'd get a replacement but I got nothing and they wouldn't respond to further messages on Amazon.

I'm done and disappointed with Whitestone

My first installation went well. looked good and lasted until a TMo tech was too rough taking off my case causing the edge to pop. I figured not a Whitestone issue .

I purchased a replacement pack for $39. The installation was a little tougher but also went OK. I noticed that there was not as much excess to clean up. After about a week the bottom started lifting. I thought I must have done something wrong and ordered another $39 replacement.

The third pack was different with speaker masking and side sponges. The installation was getting easier with experience. WRONG. This time my first attempt had bubbles as soon as the glass dropped. So I removed cleaned and did it again. It is a pain to clean the glue and keep everything dust free. But this time the install went well and looked perfect. I let it sit a full 12 hours before installing the case (Ringke Wave). After 3 days the bottom is lifting again!!!

I am very meticulous during the installation and surfaces were very clean. Phones were not dropped. Case leaves a gap all the way around. I've now got $100 invested and still have a bad install! IMHO Whitestone has changed for the worse since my first install. Maybe less glue causing a thin bottom? IDK. What I do know is my search for a screen protector starts over. I thought this was it and liked it in the beginning, enough to pay the price.

Anyone else?
