Did you ever figure out a solution to this? I have the same problem. There has to be a solution as I have seen these installed on others phones with minimal issues. Thanks!
I have had luck taking a little bit of the loca on a thin piece of cardboard touching it to the spot on the edge. The adhesive should fill that spot. Then cure with light.

At first looks great but now my phone looks like crap again find it hard to justy another one at the price they are it's gonna cost more than the phone at some point of buying so many

Stop complaining when you guys take your cases off and on. Put the protector on, put your compatible case on, and stop goofing with it. You wont have a problem. If it lifts, you have a bad case, or you keep taking your case off and on..

My wife's note 8 had the OtterBox defender and one of those wet install screen protectoes. I have a whitestone dome on my pixel 2 xl and I love it.

We just had a scare when she dropped her phone and it landed screen first onto a corner of s metal object. Luckily nothing happened but I decided it was time to look into the screen protector and s compatible case as I knew the defender doesn't work with the WSD.

I seem to remember initial impressions of the WSD for the N8 being positive. Now it looks like that's changed as time has gone on and the WSD has shown that it doesn't withstand the test of time and sversge use on the N8.

Are there any full adhesive options that are FLAT for the N8? That's what they did for the pixel 2. Everyone whined and complained, but the protector looks good, feels better, and most of all; does its job. If such a protector was and and used with the defender the phone could be completely protected aside from the round edge display on the side. Yes, this would be annoying feeling the edge of the protector when you interacted with the edge functions on the N8, but at least the $800 phone would be safe. In my particular case my wife doesn't use her edge functions at all, so it'd be no love lost for her anyway.

I think this is the best solution seeing how protecting the edges without lifting seems impossible. Are there any location products out there like this?

It may not be a good idea to use the WSD with the Defender, but it's not exactly true that the WSD doesn't stand the test of time across the board... The type of case plays a role, at least to some extent, as does application of the glass, etc. Yes it has lifted for some, but it has not happened to everyone either. See pic in my post above yours, for example. You may still prefer a flat design of course, and the WSD or others could still go wrong without a case, but just wanted to clarify based on my experience, fwiw :)

Yes, I saw your pic and it's fantastic that it's working for you. I love it on my pixel and had planned on getting her a new case because I know the WSD doesn't work with the defender. Again, the drop was what spurred me to pull the trigger on the purchases. That's when I found all the negative reviews.

I appreciate your input, but now with all this being said the question still stands: is there a loca style TGSP like the WSD that only covers the flat portion of the display?

EDIT: do you have any more pics and/or any pics that are more clear that show the space around the edge of the WSD and the OtterBox defender? I'm a big believer in OtterBox stuff. The cars have saved my phones from a lot of damage. I suppose you could chaulk it up to luck, but I attribute successful protection of the phones I've had to the OtterBox defenders. If I can't have the defender I'd like to have the next best thing. I'm interested to see how much area is left around your WSD and edge of the commuter to see how much room is left to allow for the flex of the case to NOT contact the WSD.

I've only tried a few other protectors, but that was early on and they weren't full adhesive. They were pretty bad. I did however take a lot of pics of the Whitestone and Commuter for another thread, which might help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=75673038

I don't want to completely defend the WSD either...I'm very happy it's working out here but I know people have had mixed reviews too. I haven't tried any flat protectors, but someone else may be able to recommend one.

Yes, I understand your point that it's worked well for you. I am just seeing too much negativity about it to feel comfortable taking the risk. Then seeing that their customer service isn't being helpful kinda puts the icing on the cake to make me decide to pass on the WSD.

Are there no full adhesive, flat TGSP for these note 8's? Anyone?

I too was having doubts about spending $60 on a screen protector. I recieved mine last night and it was my first time installing anything like this but it went perfectly. I had a small bubble but I managed to squeeze it out. The thing that annoys me is the adhesive is oozing out from all sides...

Why is everyone having trouble with getting loca all over the place with this piece? I have the pixel 2 xl. I put the WSD on it. There were a couple little absorbent loners that were to be put the sides of the screen in the installation jig. The loca was supposed to be absorbed there. Doesn't this kit have those pieces?

My first WSD didn't have those extra bits, but my second one did. Still leaked more than I would have liked.

Hey Whitestone Dome. Can you please email me back? I've tried contacting you multiple times with no response. Getting pretty irritated that I'm being ignored.
thanks, Don

If you are using your device in a environment that is extremely hot and humid, then this can occur. Or if you are using your device with the GearVR headset for a prolong period of time this can happen also. Once you let your device cool down for a bit your can get rid of the bubble pretty easily. As this has happened a couple of times on my Note 8, when I use it to watch 360 videos for a extended period of time.
