Hard to say until one actually tried it. There is the Invisshield sold by one of the forum members, Gorillath used by Magic Howard on here. These glasses are cheap to make and Whitestone just had the head start on it and while Whitestone is a Korea company, the Dome is still made in China and while there may be knockoffs or even competitors, there could be improvements made and the price is not that cheap since you are buying in quantity as they will not sell you just 1, you have to buy 10 as a minimum and then even on aliexpress, the minimum is a 100 so it's only cheaper because of the quantity as buying one usually has the costs of shipping involved as both Invisshield and Gorillath is not cheap after you add in the shipping.
Just to update you all I'm still using the gorilla glass uv method as mentioned. It's holding up very well. No scratches and perfect feedback. I think it may be a tad more reflective than the original glass underneath and there is some dust hardly noticeable in the edges.
I didn't upgrade to Note 9 because I really hate these curved glass edges.. And the limitations of the screen protectors.

Apparently the n9 edges are not as curved as the n8. Mines due today, so we'll see.

Boys the real problem is another, I talk about falls even 50cm, in these cases if the film hits something breaks and directly transmits the strength to the display, breaking the display, you have to pray and have a cover with very high edges so that glass does not ignore anything, otherwise it is 260 €.
whitstone is only valid for scratches and that's it.

That's true of every glass protector. My Whitestone has absorbed damage from a few falls and has a small crack but the glass underneath is safe. It's already paid for itself.

My first Whitestone was also lifting up of the corners. I used a dremel (or a blade) and trimmed the case edges a bit. No more lifting.
The first one lasted 6 months. I had to replace because it broke when a toll fell on the phone.
The second one has been installed for a couple of weeks now and it's also perfect

Been going over tons of reviews looking for a quality protector for my note 8. Almost settled on the Whitestone until I read this thread. It's disappointing cause I think the solution for an almost perfect screen protector on curved screens can be made (but hasn't).

Unless technically un-achievable why hasn't anyone combined both glass and 'plastic'? Using glass on the flat surface and tapered 'plastic' for the edges. All wet of course and seamlessly molded so it's a single product. That would solve the sides from lifting. Maybe one day. Perhaps by the Note 11.

Going to pass on the Whitestone at this price. Agree that a 40.00 - 50.00 protector should never need a cover.

I use an OtterBox Defender with the Whitestone glass screen protector. The upper portion of the OtterBox shell that protects around the screen is so tight against the glass protector that it will lift. What I've done was to dremel and file down the edges of the OtterBox so that it fits flush with the glass. Now that there is a plastic ledge (the OtterBox) around the paremeter of the glass protector that sits at the same height as the glass, there is no way for any small repetitive trauma to reach down deep where at the bottom edge of of the glass protector meets the screen. And therein lies your issue: repeative and cumulative tiny little bits of force/trauma at the bottom edge off the glass protector meets the screen causes lifting. You need something to fill the space. And being a fan boy of OtterBox, the Defender series worked out for me (albeit w/ a small bit of filling down the inner edges of case)

I See lots of mixed comments about this expensive whitestone dome cristal, so, I bought a curved full adhesive surface cristal, MOSS brand, 8 dlls a piece, works real fine, with a variety of cases and without, as for shatter resistance, many think that after a fall, the glass should not break, but in fact, if the glass breaks, that is exactly how it absorbs the impact to save the screen from cracking, dependindg always on the circumstances of the fall

In fact, on the 8th note the second fall broke whitstone and also display below, in practice there is nothing against falls, only luck.

Yes, as I said, it all depends ultimately on the circumstances of the fall, I have seen people droping their phones while running, and barely catching some scratches, and others droping from barely 30 cm and the whole screen shattered beyond belief...

Strangely I can't find the official website. Can you tell me?

Thanks

6 weeks later, and I have the exact same problem as OP.

Did anyone tried the wet aplication ones, like phantomskinz?

Do they start to peel at the curved screen edges?
