Ok, officially reported to vivo support today. I also provided the video samples. Holding for feedback.

Will this AI issue go away if we change the launcher or will it continue to happen unless Vivo puts out an update?
No it's most likely some gamut optimization done against YouTube within the device. We will have to sit tight, but, for now, at least there is the option to use unefected 3rd party apps. Thank God it's not the panel itself !

Thanks for reporting the issue. Yeah really glad that it's not the panel itself.

Responsable from ViVo :

This phone supports P3 Color Gamut, showing a true colorful horizon. And it applies to the default Albums and video app. So the color shown in the Album is different from the color viewed by third-party albums.

So? Isn't a problem for them?!

YouTube app plays normal videos in brilliant Colors . Only problem with HDR
You are missing the whole context here. We are talking about how the AI is reducing the colors accross apps and not just YouTube. And even with YouTube, it doesn't show the same colors with the built in apps, be it an HDR or a normal video. HDR is obviously too bad, but even a normal video's colours are better on a third party app.

I think its the OS that is misbehaving not AI particularly, because if it was AI it would have implemented over all apps not just system apps.
