Will this AI issue go away if we change the launcher or will it continue to happen unless Vivo puts out an update?

Ok, officially reported to vivo support today. I also provided the video samples. Holding for feedback.

No it's most likely some gamut optimization done against YouTube within the device. We will have to sit tight, but, for now, at least there is the option to use unefected 3rd party apps. Thank God it's not the panel itself !

It's a problem for sure. They initially told me the same thing but I pressed and the rep claims it was being submitted for consideration.
Can you be a little more elaborate please? Resolution setting in the YouTube app or under phone settings?
Oh got it. Thanks for that. But not just HDR, the AI on the NEX makes the over all colors look dull on the entire YouTube app and gallery app. So, that needs to be fixed.

Just reported the issue to Vivo on Facebook. I encourage everyone to report this to Vivo. The more people who do, the better!
You are missing the whole context here. We are talking about how the AI is reducing the colors accross apps and not just YouTube. And even with YouTube, it doesn't show the same colors with the built in apps, be it an HDR or a normal video. HDR is obviously too bad, but even a normal video's colours are better on a third party app.
I think its the OS that is misbehaving not AI particularly, because if it was AI it would have implemented over all apps not just system apps.
I just heard back from Vivo. Good news, everyone! The engineering team at Vivo knows about the issue and is working on it for the next update
Now we get to see if they are authentic or just playing lip service to the community.
