This phone is an insult to consumers

I am very fond of my Pixel 4. I do not use it as a mobile juke-box and I do not play games.
I find motion sense to be a useless distraction, given my usage, so it is turned off.
Given my, albeit slight, usage the battery will last well over a day, which is plenty for me.
In every other respect I find the Pixel 4 to be a very fine phone indeed..
I suspect a lot of people will find this thread to be a bit of an insult to anyone
with more than two brain cells to rub together.

At today's discounted prices, the Pixel 4 is a solid contender. At the initial retail prices, it was a joke.

I read an article on one of the Android sites recently about how the rumor now is that the Pixel 5 may not be a top tier phone. The thought that went through my head was, "That's nothing new. Google has been selling mid-tier phones phone for years now - except at top tier prices while trying to pass them off as top-tier. Maybe now they are simply going to price the phones correctly."

Google hit it out of the park with the Pixel 3a series. So they have proven they can make great phones and price them correctly. I hope that is what the Pixel 5 brings. It doesn't have to be a top tier phone - just price the thing correctly!

I disagree that it was a joke at initial price. I got it $200 off but would have paid full price after using it for a while. Il gladly pay for software experience and pixel is second to none when it comes to software. Yeah the s20 has crazy hardware, but the camera isn't any better than the pixel and your stuck with oneUI

In these self-isolating times kids screaming in the background and using your phone for Houseparty get-togethers are 2 of the most annoying things. So, I decided to give my 10 year old a phone (just for the duration). On a whim I decided to give her my S10+ and go back to my Pixel 4. The difference is night and day, there is just no comparison. The P4 is light years ahead in useablity and is just simply a better phone in so many ways. To use someone else's marketing tagline, it just works. Everything flows so much more smoothly. The S10+ is a great phone, but it just doesn't "feel" right after the P4. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Smashed my S10+ in my trunk and killed it (about a year left to pay on it too)!

I needed a phone ASAP... I originally was looking for older Samsung phones or LG, but found a GREAT deal on an unlocked Pixel 4 that I couldn't pass up ($220) on CL. I had a Nexus 6P, which was my absolute favorite phone to date.....So I figured I'd give it a try.

The P4 is soooo much smoother and everything loads faster and just works better. Even messages I had issues with sending before, on my S10+, go through without a hitch on the P4.

Then there's the camera! I kind of fell out of love with taking pictures for a couple years, but the P4 has me loving it again!

I "downgraded" from OnePlus 8 Pro to Pixel 4, and my gosh.
Don't get me wrong. The O+8P is a great phone, but it's so huge, and I can't stand the curved edges.
The battery isn't any good either.

I highly doubt I'll upgrade from the P4 anytime soon.
The P4XL is too big for me, and they have to do some serious upgrades to P5/P6 for me to upgrade.

Very happy to own my own Pixel 4 here in Norway (it's pretty rare here).
Got it for $750 without discounts. Well worth it.
For comparison; OnePlus 8 Pro was $1250

Oneplus 7T at $599, iPhone 11 at $699 and google gives us a $799 phone with a tiny battery and stingy specs. What were they thinking?
I've had the pixel 4 for a year or so now and it's hands down the best phone I've ever owned. Battery won't go 2 days but with how fast it charges why need 5000mah battery?

The screen size is perfect fits so well in the hand and my jean pockets. Camera best ever by far.

Far from an insult rather designed for the purpose it fulfils so well. A++++++

Good for you. At $799 this thing is nothing close from the best phone ive ever used. I think a lot of ppl agree, even google since they stopped selling it so soon. But hey if you're happy good for you. I personally think there are so much better options at a cheaper price.

Same thing here.

'Downgraded' from a OnePlus 8 Pro that was ~$1200, to the Pixel 4 that was ~$699, and it's night and day.
Without a doubt the best phone I've used to date, but as I use the phone for work as well - I _need_ to charge when I go to bed.
Usually around 10% left if I've had a typical day at work.

If they'll release a Pixel 5 with the typical upgrades, but a somewhat bigger battery. ~4000 mAh, I'll most likely upgrade next year.
As long as it's not bigger in size. The size is perfect.
