However, out of the blue, the system UI started dying whenever wired headphones are connected, and will not come back while they are plugged in. Once I unplug them, the UI starts back up on its own and the lockscreen appears again.
Got this from Telegram group.
(Not a big fan of Telegram, information should be publicly available, and I hate meme cat GIF).
Here's the solution (apparently -I'm not experimeting this bug) :

"SystemUI crash or black screen while plugging headphones or connecting to bluetooth media devices turns out to be a google derp.
Update your google app from the play store to fix it. "

Hi.

Thanks for the rom, it's very good.
However I'm finding that the screen to input Bluetooth code in pairing closes itself inmediatly, thus rendering the pairing impossible. Is it something I'm doing wrong or someone else is experiencing this?
Also unlimited google photos seem to be working,it doesn't add to your quota.

Hi.

Nevermind about the bluetooth issue. Parrot mki9200 had memory full so it rejected the connection. My parrot screen is broken that's why i had no clue.
Actually switched to cherishOS, also very good, i'll check back with v1.3.

Thanks.

Just installed v1.3

(Yes you're right molnartibor, there's no communication on XDA forum about new releases, apparently Telegram is the new king, though I personnaly don't like it -too many internet meme and confusing endless angrish, device agnostic, conversations)

This new v1.3 is even smoother for me. New Predator kernel makes wonder here, I have to say.
Couldn't spot many differences between this and v1.2 (icon shape customization is now possible though)

Did a clean install although I first wanted to do a quick dirty flash -but couldn't-

A few things i noticed:
* night light is finally working
* adding traffic indicator to status bar is now possible
* the Essence menu seems to be revamped, with some additional options.
* wired headphone buttons now work for volume control and play/pause

Indeed, the ROM now feels smoother, however the previous version was also not bad initially, but after a few days it got slower, even to the level when music player was kicked out of the ram every 30 seconds, so i had to reboot the phone at least every other day. seems there was some memory leak issue, will see how the new version performs after a few days.

overall, I am pleasently surprised by this ROM, for a long time i was considering anything besides LineageOS a piece of crap, but this ROM proves i should change my mind.

Hi,
Can you confirm that the mobile network indicator is always shown on status bar?

Thanks

best A12 rom so far for lavender. Light and smooth. Anyone know how to lock certain apps not killed by the system ? and how to prevent apps auto run ?

NOTE: It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.

it does that for me as well, seems like a bug.

also i cant find where to enable battery percentage in status bar.
    You can find it on:

    Settings > Essence

how does this unlimited google photos upload option work?

Nice rom! stable, fast and nice battery duration.
    Came to talk about that.
I think I have gained like 25-30% of battery life using this, it's really amazing on a 2.5 years old phone.
I read that there has been work on improving battery life on Android 12. So this just being a12 could be the reason alone for that.
But anyway, nice work and nice ROM, again !

I really like this ROM. It's nice and smooth, looks great, pretty responsive.

However, out of the blue, the system UI started dying whenever wired headphones are connected, and will not come back while they are plugged in. Once I unplug them, the UI starts back up on its own and the lockscreen appears again.

Looking around, somebody said that this was caused on a different device by an overlay not supported by SystemUI. I remember disabling (or trying to) the option for speaking to Google Assistant (even though it's not supposed to be on) with wired headphones, don't know if that's at all related.

In the meantime, I can only guess that this could be fixed with a data wipe, but I haven't even had the ROM installed for 24 hours and that is frustrating.

I captured a logcat through the terminal, I hope it's useful.
Edit: I can't see if the file is actually attaching, please tell me if you can see it.
