A few new features this time...

Lulzactiveq :

I've tested it for one day, lulzactiveq feels snappier than stock pegasusq to me, but it's also slightly more battery thirsty, so it's up to you if you want more power or longer battery...

row scheduler :

As always, the difference is hard to tell on normal use, you try or you bench like crazy and tell me ;)

CIFS :

For those mounting CIFS shares to their device, mount and umount now will be overridden by the ramfs's own, as such they just will work (no more 'invalid argument', whatever busybox you have installed on your system. This might be extended to more commands in the future, as needed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Changelog v1.3e

  • added lulzactiveq governor (credits Gokhanmoral, Roberto, Tegrak and AndiP71, as per request by Shaitan on www.android-hilfe.de)
  • added ROW scheduler (credits Tatyana Brokhman, as per request by Enrico0802 on www.android-hilfe.de)
  • removed hardcore sharpness fixes
  • added mount/umount (busybox) to ramdisk in /sbin for 100% cifs mount compatibility
  • default installation modes have been updated :
    • Yank555.lu :
      • CPU : 1.6GHz, LulzactiveQ
      • I/O : 512Kb readahead buffer, row scheduler
      • LMK : Medium
      • Swap : hardswap, no zram, swappiness 70
      • Fastcharge : enabled, 1000mA USB & AC
      • Soundlevel : speaker +3, stock for headphones
      • Dynamic fsync : enabled
      • CIFS kernel modules : enabled
      • Flash : ask
      • init.d support : no

Well this one should run on AOSP (has been reported for some).

But I suppose you mean 4.2 AOSP (or CM10.1) ?

Nothing in the pipeline for now, I didn't even take the time to look into what kind of work it would be yet.

But it's only a matter of time, and since my daily is a CM-PA, and I'd be happily going to AOSPA, so I'd say there's a very good chance :D

Tried this kernel forma about 3 days and I'd to say that is very fast band smooth...
But is so battery ungry.. With the others I used to heavy undervolt both CPU band GPU, so I would ask if you plans to add the UV support later...

Anyways thanks for your hard work and of corse Marry Christmas :)

No UV is planned, it makes really no measurable difference in battery life (tested it long time myself) it only brings instability, and fills the thread with reboot / freeze reports ;)

Have you seen the battery life I get with it (post 5) ?

V 1.3f? ;)

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

Yep, nothing much, just tested removing the exynos-mem sysfs interface completely (closing the security hole completely) and checking if that doesn't break anything ... shouldn't on CM10 (AOSP/AOKP) anyway.

So no change in functionality / performance ... just a safety update.

If you want to test it, it's already up in my batcave (see my signature). Any feedback is welcome ;)

If it behaves in the next few days, I'll put it up in the op.

wow great battery life!!

I've seen that you're using JuiceDefender, could I ask your settings? I think that if is set in the right way, it could help to save a lot of battery...

Also are you using modded brightness levels?

In the meantime I replaced JD by two apps a few days ago, BetterWiFiOnOff and SmartSettings (mobile data), am still testing those. But I set them more or less the same as I used to set JD :

WiFi and Data off when screen off, activated once every 30 mins.

For brightness I use Lux, not to keep screen darker to save juice, but for it's sub-zero mode as I found the display too bright in the dark, hurt my eyes ;)

Doesn't more apps take up more juice? Like Lux, do you only use it for night times. I am using it only for night times.

I have lux on dynamic all the time. Well the usage in post 5 is with 160+ apps installed, and lux is always on my S3.

If the apps know to behave and are properly programmed they won't use much juice.

I'm thinking about use swap. If I would try the hardswap metod, I need to create the swap partition? And won't be better to use a dynamic pagefile as swap partition, like on windows OS?

Can be done, but a dedicated partition is a clean block device without filesystem overhead. Plus I don't like having files lying around my data ;)

So the original Camera from S3 works fine with the Yank555lu 2.8e and 2.8F. Manual focusing and shooting with language without flash and with flash work for me under the DarkyRom v2.8 and Yank555lu 2.8F with no Problems.

What I can not test is because I have no HDMI cable for HDMI and never use on your smartphone.

oh sorry is not the Thread for Yank555lu 2.8 e / f ...

I'm Change the Thread....Yank

Hey Yank, great work as always, have been using your kernel for a while now, but yesterday I flashed cm10.1.
Will your kernel support android 4.2.1?

Thanks bud.

I'll look into it, but I'm quite busy for the moment ... but eventually yes, as I'll be heading there as well anyway ;)

It's been "semi-out" and I think it's time to just make it official ;)

Changelog v1.3f

  • added support for XBOX 360 gamepad (modules loadable by Aroma option, as per request by 4ndr0 on www.android-hilfe.de)
  • removed /dev/exynos-mem alltogether since it can't be used anyway with chmod 400
  • in Aroma, predefined presets now only change defaults, but you can review the exact settings and change any if you want
