You don't have to reinstall anything Bud! Nor you've to reconfigure anything!
It's just as same as installing a FOTA update.
Install it bud!

Hi.. i have downloaded the zip from asus website but for some reason the popup for update is not showing on my screen..
I cleared FOTA update cache and data and rebooted the device still it wont show up..
Also checked in settings - system update.
Can someone point out what am i doing wrong?

Move it to the root directory!
Or in simpler words
Move it from that download folder and paste it outside of any folder!
Like it shouldn't be in a folder!

Then reboot!

The reception of this smartphone really s*cks. I opened a thread on zentalk different time ago: https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-236917-1-2.html. They requested to me to provide some logs, but after this i haven't received no more reply from asus.
With .337 the reception is really a crap. I tried with bluetooth on and off, with both bluetooth and wifi on and off, but nothing change. And in the latest 3 update the baseband is the same, but on previous .331 the reception was better. So i don't know what they are do, but the solution seems so far!

Sincères the new update 338, it seems to work better...
Hope it's actually fixed (and not a placebo feeling ?)

I downloaded the zip file of December 19 update( build no. 338) from chrome
Then cleared the FOTA service data
And after that I rebooted the phone
But I still didn't receive any notification of the update!!!
I'm currently using the zenfone Max pro m1 6gb variant
Please help me!!

Put the zip outside download folder. It shouldn't be in any folder.

I hope you have placed the zip at the root of the main storage and not in a different folder.

You have to place it directly under internal storage and then reboot for it to get detected.

But of what file do you speak? The full rom avaible on Asus support site? Or someone has captured the ota?

Edit: updated succefully with full file. Just put in root of phone and reboot, then it will notify a new update file found.

Hey , after the update
Can I delete the zip file from the phone

One thing i observed is that after the update we can use the same zip file on other max pro m1 phones.
Somehow the update mechanism corrupts the zip file.
After the update i tried opening the zip file in es file explorer and fx explorer and they both said compression error.
The same zip file didn't work on the other max pro m1 i have.

I guess this is not mentioned anywhere.
