2 weeks ago I was using the google maps apk for directions while on foot (using the directions funtion). I noticed that the map's view and angle shifted according to how I held the phone, i.e. when holding it down (screen horitzontally) I would see a top-down view, but when tilting the device vertically, the view changes with the movement, eventually showing me a "first-person-like" view with the horizon in the middle.
I found that a very sweet and handy feature! Since then, I have been tinkering with the device and tried custom ROMs. I'm on InsertCoin right now and this feature is't present anymore in the maps app.
I am not sure, but I think I was on stock 2.3.4 Android back then.
Is that feature gone because of a different apk version or because of some official HTC navigation feature I lost with custom roms? Like, on stock I have "Facebook for HTC Sense" but with custom ROMs I only have the regular FB app.
I still can change the View to 3D manually when swiping up/down with two fingers, but it doesn't react to the tilt anymore!
Anyone know something about it?
