The silence is ridiculous...

Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
They did the exact same thing with the V10 release. An entire month of silence with carriers saying they'll sell the phone, but we don't know when. I was seriously considering going to the V20 from my Note7, but this whole silence is insane. I'll probably just stay with the Note 7 since I'll probably have that back next week.

When was the release date for the v10?

Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
October.... 12 or 13 something like that... And the t-mobile locations around me only got a few... I had to call 3 or 4 stores before I found someone with stock and had him hold it for me while I drove there!

*edit*
With some googling I found it was much later than that. Oct 28 for tmobile. Man I wish I hadn't found that. I was happier thinking this one might be coming out sooner. Hopefully they don't wait that long!

Exactly! I remember it being a full month before they actually confirmed the release date. Completely absurd. The v10 was such a cool phone though, but I think something was lost in the conversion to aluminum. The rugged rubber and steel industrial thing was what made me go for that phone.

I emailed them, basically saying, "you do realize we only have until September 30 to return our Note 7's and get the V20, right?" Here is their reply:

"Thank you for taking time to contact LG and we really appreciate your e-mail!

I hope everything is going well with you.

Thank you so much for showing interest in getting the LG V20, the release date of the would still be discussed by LG, Google Android, and the network carrier as we work system-to-system with them to update the software. Also, since this would require a lot of testing to make sure it will run smoothly and not cause any glitches on the software and to ensure that it will be compatible both hardware and currently installed apps. The tentative release date of LG V20 will be at the end of the month. And for Verizon user the LG V20 model number is LG VS995.

We’ll keep you posted as we receive information about this release update, though. And we already raised this to the attention of our Developer&#39s Team so that they can make sure to release the LG V20 device in considering for our valued customer as soon as possible. You may also visit our website and Facebook page once in a while for information which will be posted once available."

I like hearing that the tentative release date is still the end of this month, but I am not going to hold my breath.

@StaticMoot I guess it is all a matter of personal tastes but coming from a long time Note user, I like the looks of the V20 better than the V10. To me it is a really nice looking phone, more traditional but it looks higher end compared to the V10 to me. I am pretty sure I am getting this phone to at least try out and hope I like it. I am returning my Note 7 and have my Note 5 to move back to until this is released. I can wait but I too want it to be released sooner than latter. For some reason, this phone excites me more than the Note 7 did and I have had every Note since the 3. I hope it doesn't disappoint me but if it does, I can always go back to a Note 7.

I am used to a lot more chatter around the Samsung phones and it seems like there is much less interest in LG. I keep checking for new info on the phone every day but not much new at the moment.

I've been hearing a lot of chatter about a beginning of Fall release (Sept. 22/23). It currently feels like a sloppy release so far though. I wonder why they even bothered with an announcement so soon - ESPECIALLY on the same day as the iPhone announcement. To me it seemed like a very unnecessary announcement if they don't even know when they're wanting to release it themselves though.

What was their email address? I'm going write them and email also, we should all write them, perhaps it'll speed things up, but I'm not holding my breath!

I have no direct email address to share, unfortunately. I went to LGs website and then went to Contact Us and chose email (because their chat option closed down earlier in the day). It's like a form you fill out and they email you back from an email address that is outbound only.

There billions of dollars at stake here. I've got to believe LG is doing everything it can to push this out in time to take advantage of the Note 7 situation and the few iPhone sheep who haven't already ponied up for the iPhone 7. I doubt they need any emails to know that or that they will make any difference.

Three of our family of 5 got the Galaxy s7 today, but my son and I are holding out for this device. I don't think LG has the clout in or the knowledge of the U.S. market to throw its weight around like Samsung does.

i saw this also when i checked t-mobile's site this morning. it was not there at 3 am when i had checked. i called t-mobile just a little while ago and they still have no info regarding date of pre-orders or actual release date. i hope with the drop in price on the V10 and the G5 that it will happen sooner than later. i highly doubt they will wait another full month to release the phone. that would be a major blunder on lg's part. they will completely miss the window for all the note 7 users like me who want to replace the defective notes for another phone. september 21st was one of the dates i have seen multiple times on different sites regarding availability for t-mobile. guess we will all have to wait and see. edit: i just checked dates on a lot of the other phones listed on t-mobile's site based upon the date shown on the screenshot. not 1 single one corresponded to a release date of the phone. so hopefully the october 19th shown on the v20's screen is just a stock photo being used.

VentureBeat is claiming that LG is launching it on October 21st.

BETTER. NOT. BE. TRUE. I will consider not buying the phone out of spite for LG being incredible idiots if that is the case.

Yup here's a link for those interested - http://pocketnow.com/2016/09/19/galaxy-note-7-lg-v20-sales-acts-us-october-21.

So I guess if it is indeed true, then the people who were given "review/beta" phones were just a beta test so they can furnish the final product fixing any issues they may have seen, etc. Thats the only good way of looking at a release date like that.
