[TIP][MINI GUIDE] So you tried and tried and still cant root your S4?

Rooting phones shouldn't be hard but took me about an hour and half to root mine. There are many threads but unfortunately there was a recent OTA update in the last two weeks that patched rooting at kernel level.

Easy fix- Flash wanam's Adam Kernel and then try any of the methods that are for your device. They should work.

I rooted mine with Cofface's flashable recovery.

can you please explain the process in detail,
how do i flash a custom kernel and where do i get it.

Guide.. sigh.

1. Download "GT-I9500_AdamKernel.V1.0.Odin.tar" from here.

2. Get Odin. (Google it if you dont have it.)

3. Put phone in Download mode.

4. Connect phone to laptop/pc.

5. Load "GT-I9500_AdamKernel.V1.0.Odin.tar" as PDA. Make sure Re-Partition is NOT checked. Other two should be check. (aka default settings).

6. Hit start. Phone should reboot when done.

7. Get coffaces odin zip from here: [link for i9500 /!\ ]

Unfortunately the kernel is for I9500 only.

I9505 has CF-AutoRoot. Give it a try.

The pure CF-Root doesn't work on new firmwares - that's the problem. But anyway - thanks!
