Damn, I backed up a ton of stuff awhile back using Payload Dumper but modemst1/2 got missed somehow.

I had the same issue. To fix it I updated to android 12 11_C.20 then used the msm to go back to T-Mobile stock. I then updated once again to 11_C.20 and used the msm. It makes the modem stick for android 11.

Did you flash the datafix while you were in 12 before you MSM'd back to TMO?

No. It seems to be an android 11 glitch. If you update to T-Mobile android 12 then msm. It should fix your issue. I don't know if it's a temporary fix or permanent but it worked for me.

Could you clarify your steps for me?
Sounds like you're saying to:

  1. MSM to stock TMO
  2. Take OTA updates all the way until you get the TMO Android 12 version 11_C.20
  3. MSM to stock TMO (again)
  4. Take OTA updates all the way until you get the TMO Android 12 version 11_C.20
  5. MSM to stock TMO (again)

So far, I've MSM to stock TMO.
Then, I OTA updated all the way up to Android version 12 "11_C.16".
I'm doing the next 12 update now (c.20).

Interestingly, after I hit the first Android 12 update, my SIM now comes up as "CARD" instead of "T-Mobile".
And shows as SIM 2 in the "about" section.

Tried this but still not getting any network service. ugh

And phone SIM still showing up as "CARD" now too, instead of "T-Mobile".
And I see an "MEID" instead of an IMEI when I go to about/phone.

IMEI isn't lost but doesn't seem to be used as option #1 or something.

Guide & Files updated.........
I would like everyone to know that I have completed my work here for OnePlus 9 pro. This will be the last update as I no longer have time for this device. Thankfully modem retention is/was a success. I would like to thank each and everyone of you. If you like my work, pick up a Pixel 7 series 👍
Also new link...

Not necessary anymore since a13. Don't need this. It's a old thread and should be closed
thanks, so just to be sure - I bought a "global version" on aliexpress which turned out to be TMO. I don't live in the us and it let me unlock the sim, I then followed the steps above. I now have global A13 rom and a working modem, do I have missing bands or am I clear? is there a way to check?

If you converted it to Global, you won't be missing anything. I did the same thing with my T-Mobile model.

Not exactly true. If you intend to use the phone on T-Mobile, the Global firmware is missing their NR-CA combos for SA mode. This means it cannot aggregate a lowband 5G with midband 5G, phone has to hop between congested lowband or weak signal midband. If you do intend to use Global firmware on T-Mobile network, it would be a good idea to make sure the phone stays in NSA 5G mode for better performance.

I am considering making flashable firmware zips with the T-Mobile radio for those on custom firmware but want to wait for both the custom rom devs and t-mobile to be on 13 (and 13 blobs, most of the 13 roms are still shipping on 12 blobs).

@Libra420T you mentioned in another thread that you had the same "No Service" issue before but I missed where you said what the fix was?
I had similar issues and it was due to screwing up my persist and/or efs partitions by flashing wrong modem. Bad news is MSMtool won't fix your issues. I was lucky and had the modemst1/modemst2 backed up which did fix mine. In my case phone worked if I set it to 4G, but 5G was almost totally broken until I flashed my backup on.

In my case, I'm not on T-Mobile. My T-Mobile variant is carrier unlocked to Verizon.

Hi Guys;

I have LE2127. It was turned to LE2123 (with EU rom). My current version is LE2123_11_F.74. Everything working fine.

But;

My network connection lost or coming too late (around 1 minute) When I restart my phone or open and close airplane mode.
If my network not come, I'm pulling out my sim tray and put it in again and network come.

There is 2 sim card looking at settings.

I have some questions about these.

1- If I convert my rom EU to Global, will my network problem be fixed and will my phone be single SIM?
2- If I convert my rom EU to Global, will my IMEI change or lost?
3- If I change my rom EU to Global, should I downgrade my rom step by step 13 > 12 > 11 or can I flash Global rom directly via local update or something?

Your going to have the same problem on Global although I think Global is less buggy and yes, you can downgrade and you can also use the EU to Global MSM I posted earlier in this thread. Either way, your phone will be wiped so back everything up.

Thank you bro. But I cant find EU to Global MSM in the earlier posts.

Can I change it in OOS 13 with A13 ? Or should I downgrade to A11 ?

Is my modem will change it too?

Sorry dude I asked too much question to you.

I have the same device and went through the same conversion and just updated to F.74 as well. When you say everything is working fine, you mean everything BUT the networking? My networking is messed up. If I'm lucky, I briefly get a 5G signal that goes to 4G and then sits on EDGE. I also have the dual sim setup in settings. I lost VoWIFI and also noticed airplane mode doesn't disable wifi in this version. I wish there was a straightforward way to rollback to F.73 or some way to not have to spend hours re-installing and re-configuring all my apps with having to do another conversion.

    First off I can't stress enough how much time and effort was put into this process, no amount of modem flashing, no signal, and device sacrifice would stop us. Not to mention this variant is treated with extreme prejudice from OnePlus 🤦‍♂️......

    Special Thanks to:
    @Jhoopes517
    for stumbling upon signal still being there. The amount of replicating is to die for 😂 🤦‍♂️ 😂

    @FizzyAps
    for not sleeping, not even taking a damn break until it was explained & able to process😊 👍
    Without him T-mobile variant would be left in the dark.. So please appreciate his hard work and much more simplicity to come and for providing fastboot script 😊 👍

    @twinnfamous
    For providing data retain module.
    3
    Flasher.zip updated to latest 8.8 modem 👍... Sorry about the delay guys, just been dealing with a lot......

    Holy crap guys,
    don't mess with or share modemst1/2
    don't mess with or share modemst1/2

    don't mess with or share modemst1/2
    don't mess with or share modemst1/2
    don't mess with or share modemst1/2

    DON'T MESS WITH OR SHARE MODEMST1/2

    It contains your device specific info, device specific NV data, IMEI, etc. Flashing someone else's modemst will screw up your device and lose all cellular capability (and you are completely SOL if you don't have a backup), and someone with your modemst might be able to clone your IMEI.

    This is why my guides all tell you to back them up, so you can restore it in case something goes wrong. You should not be messing with it unless you know what you're doing.

    The only modem file you need to flash on to a OP9P conversion is modem.bin, AKA NON-HLOS.
