Hi
Do we need new 5G sim card to receive 5G signal or regular 4G LTE sim card works with 5G? Please advise.
No special sim card needed.

I have both 10+ phones and my lte one is pulling way faster speeds. The 5g doesn't step down to lte when lte is better in the area.

Only some spots work better, not faster, but the service is better in spots I wasn't getting anything.

Thanks for the info. I have Verizon note 10+ 5G (unlocked) and I have two service numbers, one is Verzion sim and another one is TMobile. I am using both services and I swap sim around when needed. Verizon has no 5G available yet in Los Angeles county, however just notice that TMobile has deployed 5G in my areas so I tempt to odin TMobile note 10+ 5G stock firmware N976USQU1ASL3 on my Verizon note 10+ 5G SM-N976V. Hoping that I can get 5G network from TMobile service. Does anyone have any idea whether tmobile 5G works on Verizon note 10+ 5G after flashing tmobile 5G firmware?

That is my experience, for the most part, here in Maine as well[COLOR="Silver"

If it's Tmo low-band 5G then no, it definitely will not. If it's their mmWave 5G the maybe? I don't know how compatible the two mmWave networks are.

Thanks, I was thinking Verizon note 10+5G has all the radio bands across the board of all galaxy note 10+ as long as we odin the specific carrier firmware, it should work with the said carrier. I gonna try to odin the TMobile note 10+5G SM-N976U firmware that I already downloaded and flash on my Verizon note 10+5G to see whether I get any 5G signal from tmobile.

You can try and let us all know.
I downloaded TMobile note 10+5G zip rom SM-N976U from samfrew.com, extracted and then Odin accordingly on my Verizon note 10+5G SM-N976V but somehow it failed to flash. I reset my laptop, change USB C cable, still no go. I probably need to find the TAR file of TMobile note 10+5G.

Why did they make it all so complicated? BTW what are they using in Europe for 5G, something different?
I share in your frustration. I live in Atlanta which is a mmWave rollout city. The Note 10s all come with the X55 modem. Why not enable all three ranges of service? As it is, this phone won't be compatible with mmWave, necessitating another upgrade next year.

The S10-5G is mmWave compatible, but isn't with low and mid-bands.

Life on the bleeding edge, I guess.

I'm not buying into 5G until the chipsets are all inclusive of all the bands. Most likely a later 2020 or 2021 5G chipset. Maybe a Qualcomm 875 chipset? I'm on FI and carrier hopping is what it is built for. Having all the bands makes sense to me in this case.

Do we have a good forum space anywhere for our device? It'd be nice to have an area to go to where we can talk with other T-Mobile Note 10+ 5G owners since our phones are currently so different with Android 10, One UI 2.0, and a special 5G modem that's different than the others.

I don't know why I can't get GPS location on Waze apps, but it work on Google map
Can anyone try download GPS status apps to check if your phone get get GPS location?
I was having an issue the other day with google maps. GPS data wouldn't work on 5G it seemed. I had to go into phone connection setting and set the network mode to LTE/3G and then my map immediately updated and started moving with my driving.

Same. It was bouncing me around the city.

Has anyone had problems with time and date thus affecting texts and so on?
One day the time and date changed automatically to something else. Texts were off because of it.

I went in and manually changed it and it fixed it
