How to install

Prerequisites:
  • Unlocked Bootloader
  • TWRP/CWM Recovery
Follow this guide to reach the prerequisite state.

Now, you'll be having rooted stock firmware with bootloader unlocked and XZDualRecovery installed.

Installation Instructions if you're already on CM11 [Said to be working with stock KK ROM too, please test]:
  • Boot into TWRP/CWM recovery.
  • In recovery make a full wipe as per these instructions:
    • CWM perform wipe data/factory reset and in mounts and storage section format system.
    • TWRP choose advanced in wipe section and wipe dalvik cache, cache, system and data.
  • Flash SlimKat rom zip
  • Flash SlimKat gapps zip [DOWNLOAD]
  • Reboot. Done.
Installation Instructions if above fails: [source]

  • Extract the boot.img from the zip to your computer, you will need this file for fastboot.
  • Place the SlimKat .zip file on the root of the SD card.
  • (optional)Place the Gapps .zip file on the root of the SD card.
  • Put the phone into fastboot mode: [Disconnect USB, power off device, hold volume up key and connect USB - Blue LED]
  • Open a terminal on the PC and enter the following:
    Code:
    fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img
    fastboot -i 0xfce reboot
  • While the device reboots, press the Volume rockers a few times to load recovery.
  • Once the device boots into the TWRP Recovery, choose advanced in wipe section and wipe dalvik cache, cache, system and data.
  • Flash SlimKat rom zip
  • Flash SlimKat gapps zip [DOWNLOAD]
  • Reboot. Done.

Personal Notes

I flashed over CM11.
There were lotsa force closes since I did dirty flash and didn't flash gapps.
So, do flash gapps and follow instructions carefully.
The CM11 boot.img was also working with Slim, so CM11 kernels should work fine :)

How is this as a daily driver?
Any bugs?
I have been a big fan of Slim for years on my old SGS2, so pleased to see a port of it here for the Z1c.
So far I have stuck to locked bootloader, but it would be worth moving if you get this working properly.
Good luck with this project.

In my initial tests I only faced the mentioned bugs, been running smooth since then on ART.
Will do more intensive testing tonight and see if can find and kill more bugs :)
I would say the build looks pretty good.

Thanks for your work the ROM is smooth and cool,
I flashed its kernel through flashtool, and installed the ROM after a full wipe,
everything seems to be working just fine, the only thing I noticed is that screen orientation isn't working,
I think it is related to the compass sensor bug mentioned in OP.

and here are some screenshots: (dpi by default like that)

Sorry I don't follow you, you can only access TWRP?
Just reflashing the ROM should do it, or restore your nandroid?
Nanroid made in with CWM, also TWRP don't see it.
Try reflash...

After reflash don't changed: can't mount system the SD card!
All works fine, but I NEED SD card

The CM11 boot.img comes with CWM.

Extract the img from the link (Unable to attach here :silly:): [DOWNLOAD]

Code:
fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot_cm.img
fastboot -i 0xfce reboot
This way you'll have CM and can restore the backup if you want :)
Although I still have no clue what happened with ya :p
Did the installation failed? bootloop? or what?

The CM11 boot.img comes with CWM.

So, flash the attached file using:
Code:
fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot_cm.img
fastboot -i 0xfce reboot

Did the installation failed? bootloop? or what?
Attached missing.
So: The installation was full without any error, no bootloop.
OK, please attach the CM kernel, and I'll try again.

Ohh, so the only problem is that your SD card is not detected?
Has to be some error on your side coz it works well with mine :/

It's at /storage/sdcard1 or external_sd :)

On setting/storage I only see: Mount SD card, but nothing happen,
On Esfilexplorer I see on storage/ sdcard1 or ext_card empty folder.
This not ONBLY problem...

Can you give me a screenshot of "Settings > Storage"?
(If you can't take screenshot using Slim shortcuts, you can use some app from Play Store or use DDMS tool from the Android SDK.
Thanks :)
