I dont know how you guys managed to get Tmobile to unlock it. I have spoken to 5 different agents and tried via Facebook and Twitter also and they all say the exact same thing that I need to buy a Tmobile sim card and have service for over 40 days.

UPDATE: I convinced Tmbobile to unlock it. See here:

After 20 days of telephone conversations with LG, Amazon and T Mobile, do not achieve anything .Only successful unlocking can be achieved through Twitter, achieved it after 5 days, Explain that you had purchased it from Amazon And the temporary unlocking that brings And the temporary unlocking with which it was sold, T mobile asked me for the purchase invoice and the purchase link, Once they verified that the phone was sold with a temporary unlocking they requested my emeiI, I requested an inclusion in your whitelist and a manual unlock Mentioning that they have already done this process with other people, The T Mobile agent escalated the requirement by mail and more than 72 hours later the phone was unlocked, They should insist on the inclusion of their emei in the T Mobile white list and request a manual unlock, I'm out of the US, get the unlocking thanks to Twitter.

I have a question. I just bougth one of these direct from Walmart and it too has the hacked firmware. I wanted it to a trip overseas in three days. Does anyone know if I leave the hacked firmware on the phone will it work with international SIM cards, particularly in Vietnam? Thanks

The point of the hacked firmware is to allow for sim unlock. Only if you update it to a new TMobile standard firmware will you have issues.

Yes I am aware of that but given it is something relatively unknown I wasn't sure if this firmware unlock is effective everywhere in the world, hence the question. Thanks for the help.

Just to clarify, if I have OTA updated from 6.0.1 to 7.0 without losing unlock it means I'm fine right? I got an H830 from Swappa and it wa already unlocked so I simply updated it to the max but I still have no issues with my foreign SIM.
My question is because I might want to put a custom ROM here in the future so I want to be sure that I will not lose the unlock.

Correct. The SIM unlock information is stored on a separate partition which is not resettable with user available updates or ROM flashes.
