lol I'm sure! Aren't most of the changes (at least hardware wise) isolated to arrays.xml and generally consistent for a specific device?

@kadevil should probably make it clear in the OP that this tool will make a rom that may boot, but not something that can be used as a daily driver as it'll be missing most hardware support. I'd just hate to have people wasting a bunch of time on false expectations...
Expectations??? I think you have not read my guide properly where it is clearly written.

This is just the basic thing in order to make the ROM boot. You will further need to decompile the framework-res.apk of both the ROMs and modify the xml files of the following folder as per our device value.

/res/values
/res/XML

and then re-compile.
And kadavil also mentioned it clearly that his tool is code expression of my guide. I think you really hate this tool but believe me there are many happy users of it. :D

What does your guide have to do with this thread? You don't seriously think people are going to go and read your thread just because it's mentioned here, do you?

I take offense to that - I have nothing against this tool, nor against kadevil and his efforts to learn more! My only complaint is that he repeatedly tells people that they can build roms using this tool without disclosing that it may boot but will not be usable!

And kadavil also mentioned it clearly that his tool is code expression of my guide.
However, people are coming here directly and asking for a rom and kadevil is telling them they can build it themselves with this tool without any of the prerequisite disclosures, and nothing in the OP other than a reference to your thread which most people will not bother to read. And those that do read your thread, may easily misconstrude the references - I myself wasted several hours with this tool after being directed here from your thread before I realized it was incomplete.

Again, nothing wrong with kadevil building this tool and sharing it. But he needs to be clear to people that this will not yield usable roms!

It's obvious that I've ruffled some feathers and instead of taking my comments as constructive criticism, you two are getting your panties all up in a bunch. Maybe it's a language barrier, or maybe it's my demeaner. Regarless, you are both great contributors to this board, and I am thankfull for your efforts. I intended no offense to either of you, and with that said...

Peace; Out!

That right there is the problem. So many of life's problems will be solved if people just read the OP thoroughly...but you are right, maybe it's better if kadavil mentions that bit about framework mods being needed in his OP :)

Is there a way to extend the tool for porting MIUI JB? It's going to be officially released for Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus phone.s
It is possible but MIUI needs more tweaks. If someone can guide me with that i can add that support as well.

If you want the best MIUI go to Wajk's thread. Its awesome and he is working on a JB version.

I was trying to port PA 1.991 using CM10 Quarx 22/08/2012. The procedure went fine, but stuch on PA logo after reboot. Any hint?
Try pressing y when it asks to copy libandroid-runtime
Press y not Y
Caps Y doesnt act as yes.
and try porting from s2. Thats works for a lot of people

I want to try and port Paranoid Android to my HTC one X. What will it take? Will this work out of box if I extract the ROM from the international version and put the output of one of my CM10 nightlies that are made for my phone? Our phones have very few ROM's and I want to help out. If you could PM me that would be great, I probably won't come here often. Google search brought me here :p

So I compiled a ROM using the hard port method, but now I'm nervous to flash. I don't want to hard brick my phone..

It wont hard brick(at least for defy users flashing another ROM solves the problem)

@debashih_roy2000
Did you try pressing "y" when it asks to?
NOT CAPS Y. That doesnt mean yes.
