Please someone post link to AAPT.EXE

Even I put ApkSpy.exe to ...\SDK\platform-tools\ directory, which contains aapt.exe, adb.exe ... it still tells me "Missing AAPT.EXE, make sure in current directory or PATH restart ApkSpy. Usually you can find it in <android sdk folder>/platform-tools" when I doulbe-click a certain apk file, while drag-and-drop function works well.

XP with SP3, .net Framework 4.0

install the Android SKD http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
then you can find aapt.exe in C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools

Does this allow you to revoke or deny certain permissions? Or just allow you to look at them?

Also I must thank you for this app. And here some suggestion and questions:
- also for me the rename function have to be like "app-name vXXX". Maybe make it configurable?
- the Market link work, but use the old market http address: will be better to change to play.google.com
- add an icon to the exe (maybe an green android icon?)
- if it will be possible to add some keyboard shortcut to some actions like rename etc. and maybe also use the ESC key to exit?
- if possible to search the aapt.exe also in the current ApkSpy.exe dir, because now if I launch the exe from another dir don't find the aapt (eg. from dos if I'm in c:\ and launch c:\test\ApkSpy.exe PATH+NAME.apk)

ApkSpy only show the permissions and is not capable of change it.

I love this tool!

That being said, I have a few possible feature requests.

When viewing information on an apk with no icon, it give "Parameter is not valid", while thats fine, it gets kind of annoying after a while, is there any way to change it to just say "NO ICON FOUND" in the area where the icon should/would be instead?

In addition to the one above, I would LOVE to see an option (or even default) "only one instance" type setting, IE I'd like to be able to click on one .apk after another and not have multiple ApkSpy windows popping up and having to close them all manually



I don't think its being worked on anymore, but I still thought I would throw what in all honestly are my ONLY 2 gripes out there...

I've got no clue why, but mine stopped working. I've downloaded and tried all versions. I don't get it.
I love this little program. All I get is this (see attachment) everytime I double click it.

Is there any plans to update the program? Is it possible to add the ability to customize the format of the file name for a given pattern (replace spaces underscores or hyphens, etc.)?

I don't know what is wrong, but maybe this is a windows problem. Search in your C: for any ApkSpy temporary file or dir and delete it. Or maybe do a scan with system tool; write on command prompt (launch as administrator): sfc /scannow
