You mention in 2nd step to root the device ( i have tried your whole procedure without rooting again but still freeze ). I have flash the linage 14.1 in my asus zenfone 5 T00J but now i am stuck . I have no longer root access so that i can copy cmdline file and paste it into the root directory. So please help me I tried very hard to root .
i tried using flashing Superuser binary zip but then it stuck in boot loop at starting.
King root doesn't have any method to root my device.
So what i am gonna do please help so i can have root access.
Request su addon for your Rom, u need exact build number of your ROM

yes linage 14.1 latest rom.
To get the root access, Flash the su add-on which I'm providing below. Kingroot doesn't work in our zenfone 5 device. LineageOS is already pre-rooted, it only need the su files to give you root access. So, don't use superSU from playstore (by chainfire), it will bootloop your device. King root and other root gaining app will not work for x86 device. To get the root access follow the steps below.

Steps to get root access -
1. Download the SU Add-on zip file from below.
2. Reboot to recovery.
3. Flash the su addon.
4. Reboot system.
5. When your device booted up properly, go to setting - developer option, there you will find root option. Just select "apps and adb" and you are good to go. Your device will become rooted.

After getting root access, copy the cmdline file to the /d/osip/

Before telling what i did or doing or problem occurred I wanted to thank you for helping me.
I tried all this and all these steps are successfully completed and now in my developer mode i can see the 3 more option and i selected the app and option but when i am using es explorer for root explorer it say "sorry test failed. This feature cannot run on your device".
And for confirming the root i install root checker and CPU-Z they both are showing "Root access on your device is not properly installed / root status = no".
so how can i tell app to use root access.
what i am gonna do please help

You do not need to flash any su addon, Lineage already has root access in the ROM ..
Follow these steps:-
1. Go to about phone tap build number 7 times
2. You will get a new option in the settings: Developer options
3. Open developer options and scroll down till you find root access
4. Tap and change disabled to apps and adb and confirm
5. Congo you have root access now:)

i have selected the option of 'app and abd ' in root access but still when i am using es file explorer and try select "root explorer" it say "this feature is not available on your device".
Then you might need to reinstall the ROM clearing your data and even if it doesn't work, revert back to stock ROM and the start the whole process again i.e unlock your bootloader again etc. If it works we can talk on private message..

No need to go back to stock ROM. The problem is in the LineageOS itself. Just reflash the lineageOS with the SU add-on and you are good to go. Reverting back to stock ROM and then again coming back to custom ROM is a great headache. So don't waste your time in reverting. Just flash the LineageOS again with necessary addons and then activate root access from the developer option. Remember to select the "apps and adb" option.

I have found my method to fix the camera (Camera not found) :D

I'm using the LineageOS 14.1, I was so confused why my camera can't be used (I'm using camera that often :crying:). I tried to change the ROM to STOCK, from Kitakat to Lolipop, but there's no difference :( (Still, camera not found).

Then, I was just like "If I lose my camera, why don't I lose my phone too? :silly:" Tried to disassemble my own Zenfone 5, unplugging the battery, SIM's cable etc (Using this youtube.com/watch?v=GTH0NharBj4 for the source of the knowledge :good:), and mainly the camera one (the main camera is located at the mainboard of "2:00" at that video).

After I'm done with the unplugging, I tried to re-seating all of the camera back to its place. Plugging back the component, and TADAAA :victory: , I can use the camera again.

This is my real experience , I don't know if it helps for you guys, but I did it by myself and I want to share with you guys. Seriously man, no joke. But Do With Your Own Risk! ;)

I've tried resurrection rom before summer and i face screen freeze issue and reverted back to offical lollipop. now i want to try resurrection again with this tool but i got confused.
do i have to unlock bootloader like in this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-safely-t3562640)
and after that flash resurrecition rom after that use this tool for freeze or

unlock bootloader with this tool and flash resurrection ?
can anyone help me with the steps of process.

edit: i found answer for my question. if anyone have my concerns and not want to dig the thread this is the answer
first unlock bootlader by any unlocker like one recommended in the rom thread
second flash your desired rom
third do the fix/tweak by @nheolinkin if you have screen freeze issue
