I've just read all 70 pages having ended up here following a link from I forget now, I have a Honor 9X UK version and I just want to root it. I no longer have my laptop (can use it if needed as sold to a friend) but have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 rooted with magisk. Sorry to repeat what's been repeated a million times but can someone point me in the right direction for root instructions please. I saw in the early pages Wine mentioned, could that installed on my rooted Tab S6 be used to root my Honor 9X? I'm just thinking out loud and hoping lol.

Any response will be gratefully and respectfully welcomed with relief and eaten like I've not had a cooked meal for decades :)
Unless you've got a magic solution to unlocking the boot loader you're out of luck.
If it's the phone I think it was released towards the end of last year, well after Huawei stopped giving out unlock codes and started blocking third party methods.

Sent from my HUAWEI ALP-L29 using XDA Labs

@worstenbrood the tool is great :cowboy:
But it is limited to 34 images while there are many more as shown by 7 zip for example
The problem with 7 zips is that he can't extract .img files. :D
It would not be possible to have a new unlocked version. Or is there a tutorial to do with the terminal using your library?

Success!

Download Profiles.xml from my new github-repo: stefanwe92/huawei_p10_lite_unbrick_tools_more

Important:
Make sure your downloaded firmware was FULLY downloaded from huawei´s update servers, to go sure you can download needed fw from TeamMT/hwmt site: lx1a-directory on hwmt.ru

Can you reupload profile.xml from P10 Lite?

Late reply but...... a working phone I assume.... any decent file manager should do, and copy to an sdcard? If its the data in/from the app, the same, just copy the app, install, then copy any data necessary.

Cheer

I have used X-plore from Lonely Cat Games for years ( 'n years!), rooted etc.

Basically you open 2 panels, left side internal memory/root etc, right panel sdcard. On the left panel go to App manager, select your app, long press, select copy. Copy will go to your sdcard opened directory or the root of the card.
(don't forget "move and delete" can seriously screw your phone! You are hereby warned and advised to know what your doing)
Great app, buy them a beer!

Cheers
a.d. depending on the app, it might create a .zip file, obviously moving some stuff may require root!

I think they don't have Huawei from many years!
Now that's weird they had all the rights when the huawei web-site stopped providing them to us poor folks,
do you have any original stock updates?
I ran my head around some de-coding and found (after many hours) an old rusky trick, no-idea if it works 4 U,

The idea (sorry if you've tried) was built around searching for a sequence, looking like this:

adb shell su -c "grep -m1 -aoE WVLOCK. {14} [0-9] {16}'/dev/block/boot_or_nvme_or_nvm2_or_vrcb| grep -aoE'[0-9]{16}' (which I tried with 'ol Worstenbrood fantastic tool, and 'splitupdate.py' when things started to change (and huwi spat out 30+ partitions) using a hex editor on the .img files)
...........zzzzzzzzzzz....and changing combinations, like start 0xfe...zzz......long story but yes . I managed to find the 16 magic codes.

Don't know if anyone's tried the testpoint/IDT combo, will check back later.

Upload an OTA update/stock to Mega, I'll give it a scan, if I can dig out the code , no guarantees whatsoever.
