I followed the instructions. After hitting start in the tool, my phone LED became green/yellow and the tool says Param preload. After 2000 seconds (33 min) the status is the same...how long should it take?

Thank you, with this driver it finally worked!
Good news is I manage to flash OS5.1.5 using this driver. My OP6 finally boots up. The bad news is it work for about 30mins crashed & went back to qualcomm crash dump. Tried flashing & flashing again but all unsuccessful. Anyway thanks for all the suggestions & finally found out my OP6 is a A6000 model.
Anymore help?
Time to give up?
Hardware issues?

Sounds odd that it works for 30 min. Could it be an hw issue?

Relax. I hope you can fix it now.

1. Download this https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17248734326145733775
2. Download this https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347798730 (this if the driver is not working for you https://onepluscommunityserver.com/list/Unbrick_Tools/Qualcomm drivers.7z)
3. Upzip from 1. and 2. to seperate folder
4. Install the driver from 2.
5. Reboot PC
6. Shut down your OnePlus 6
7. Press and hold Volume Up on you Phone and plug in USB to you PC, release volume up button after 5 sec.
8. Run msm tool *.exe from 1. with administration priv.
9. You'll see Com X connected. If not, uninstall the driver, reboot and install driver again. and start with 6.
10. Hit "Start" in the tool and wait for finish ~230 sec..
11. your phone will boot auto. right after finisch (green).

Really appreciate your response @Pundy. I have already tried the above steps multiple times (approx 10 times) with the below versions.
The issue is the phone doesn't auto boot up once the download is finished in the MSM tool. It happened only twice out of ten times that it auto booted but again showed the same Qualcomm crash dump mode.

If I manually try to boot the phone after flashing, it doesn't work, I have to keep trying for hours to switch on the phone with different combinations like the long pressing power button, volume up + power button. And somehow out of the blue it gets on but nothing changes and again the same Qualcomm crash dump mode. (Just now I flashed it again with the OOS 5.1.5 and it didn't boot up and nor I am able to turn it on manually)

Anyway, a couple of times (I believe when the phone booted automatically after flashing) I was able to go into the recovery mode as well and I tried to wipe and clean data but that process gets stuck in between and the phone gets off.

One progress I saw today was when I was trying to turn on the phone it showed me that warning screen which comes when the phone gets completely discharge. I then connected it to the charger and was able to see the OP charging animation.

So you mean the motherboard is dead??

Seeing cell phones dying this way is more painful. It does not have a single scratch on it... :(
Pretty much like that as many ROM developer is saying that it is motherboard issue and software cannot fix it.

Good news if it is charging. Hoping to boot your device. But still there's a chance to have a crash dump again since it's hardware issue.

You can use it to revive your op6, if you can boot in fastboot and have done the stuff with drivers (qualcomm)

MsmDownloadTool V4.0 International (Oxygen OS 5.1.5)
    May 2018 Android patches

    https://mega.nz/#F!CfBG0IgZ!Gmnu6B-a7yFyvMLNw_pz8w
    https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=746163614322268729

Guide how to revive your op6:
First of all, you need to access to fastboot mode, if you can't , contact Oneplus support, then have a windows computer and download these file and drivers qualcomm ( https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347798730) and extract in one folder.
After you have all the file ready, plug in the phone to the computer, go in device manager and under port (COM) disinstall qualcomm one (oneplus 6) and then unplug.

Now you have to go in Windows test mode to not let him install default drivers, so:
windows key (on keyboard) + X, windows powershell (or normal prompt) administrator and write and enter: bcdedit /set testsigning on ( you will repeat the same process with "off" to stop the test mode after you will finish to do all the things).
Reboot the system and you could see in bottom right corner the test mode, now you are ready to install properly drivers.

Power off the phone, then hold for 5 seconds vol up and plug the usb to computer. Now you have to see US8_BULK as new device connected and you can also see in device manager; if you can't notice it, repeat the process until you see it (power on, power off, hold...) there is a full youtube guide for op5 and it's the same process (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpLvmID1wdI)
Right click con US8_BULK in device manager and update drivers by system files (go to the folder's drivers you had extracted before).
Now you should see qualcomm drivers under port (COM).

You are ready to let the tool to do all the stuff, so let plugged the phone, always powered off, right click on msmdownloadtool and execute as administrator.
You should see your device and click start to begin the process; if it gives you some error (like sahara or something else), unplug, power on, power off and the plug it again, now it should be fine.
And that's it, the tool will do all the work and, at the end, you will have like a brand new phone ready to a new setup.

EDIT: if you are stucked in bootloader, you have only to power off and continue with the part: ... hold for 5 seconds vol up... (it happened in page 4)

Please, consider to donate me something for the work and the risk (maybe idk). Thanks :)

Exactly, this tool put the phone as a brand new. It's super useful and it was an exclusive of L2 Oneplus' techs. Now you can use it whenever you want with no limits :) I shared with you the tool for this purpose.
Mind to donate, also a little; I'm studying and I'm investing in courses for tech, blockchain and cryptovalues.
Thank you and I hope you can solve your issues everytime you want :)

What's with the 'down and up'? OP states 'Power off the phone, then hold for 5 seconds vol up and plug the usb to computer.'. Are you sure the connection is always stable? Which cable are you using? And read the instructions again first to make sure every step is followed correctly.

    Wrapped with delicious Fajita [emoji896]

When going from Android 9 to 10 on my OnePlus 6T I couldn't reach fastboot mode anymore with Vol_up+Power but only with Vol_up+Vol_dn+Power. Same is true with the EDL mode.

I guess this will be true for the 6 (without T). So what the OP writes is likely outdated, as in many other threads.
