https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8-pro/how-to/oneplus-8-pro-repo-oxygen-os-builds-t4084315

Why does it not work??

First time I changed my device in a use less brick ... Feels bad man.
What does the .bat have in it, is it not just
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
etc.

I open the payload.bin, but there is a lot of stuff in it, abl.img, aop.img bluetooth.img and 30 more.

I found this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8-pro/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-8-pro-t4083997
There are link to an fastboot rom, will try that.
Edit:
But I don't quit get the different between the posts, this can also flash factory images, but the one oneplus give us to donwload is not compatible? So he/she needs to make them themselv?
It is the same tool, and it says here it can flash factory images.

Ahoy! So this works, right? I will likely grab one (live in China) toward the end of the month, so will need to switcheroo to oxygen OS immediately, as I can't deal with non-google or playstore issues. I figure I will use this as I did with colleagues Oneplus 7Ts. (think it was this one) More than happy to unlock, root, install magidisk or TWRP, just want to check this is still an easy option. All good?

Hey guys, I'm planning on getting the Oneplus 8 Pro I2025, north american version. Will this tool work with that version?

I just bought an unlocked iN2020 and it's running OOS 10.5.13.IN11AA. Will this tool work for me? Last time I rooted a phone was about 4 years ago so I'm a bit nervous and don't want to wreck this fantastic phone.

I was using a super old version of Windows. Switched to a newer computer with updated Windows and it worked flawlessly.

no TWRP installed i am little bummy bricking the just unboxed phone

It turns out that I didn't need root. I assumed that with my Sprint SIM card that I'd need root to enable the WiFi hotspot and WiFi calling but it wasn't needed at all. The hotspot worked fine out of the box but I did have to install a LogKit downgrade to enable WiFi calling. The instructions and the LogKit app are here: https://www.getdroidtips.com/enable-wifi-calling-on-oneplus-8-pro/

That's correct. The author of the All-In-One rooting tool explained several times in this thread that the version of TWRP that he included with the tool is experimental and should not be flashed to the phone because you risk bricking your phone if you try to replace the stock recovery with this experimental version of TWRP.

Ok thanks, fine. I luckily decided not to try any trwp flashing with manual mode.
I am fine with having the option booting into twrp if i need to.

Thanks for the great tool

Guys with this tool you can finally root your device without have to flash the specified patched boot.img. I hope it will help you and i hope you will not break anymore the fingerprint sensor. Enjoy it.

Has anyone used this tool yet to unlock the bootloader and root their 8 pro?
I just can't be the first one. Lmao!!!!

I completed the process start to finish using this tool. On the phone enable developer options, then enabled usb debugging and oem unlocking, then used the tool to unlock the bootloader, which wiped my phone. Once booted again, I enabled developer tools and usb debugging again. Then used the tool to boot TWRP and Root. Once booted again, I installed the latest Magisk Manager apk from their github repo and commenced setting up the phone. All is well, fingerprint works, bank apps work after setting up Magisk Hide.

Would you be so kind to elaborate on that? I broke my fingerprint sensor by using a already patched img.. Kind of lazy mistake. But had the phone for just a day so I send it back and I'll be getting a new one tomorrow.

I would love to root it and retain my FP.

I would also like to know the steps. I'm looking at the tool and when selecting "Only Root" I can choose Magisk 20.4 from the list. The note in the tool says "or you can use 'Only Root' to root your phone you are already in TWRP mode." But as far as I understand there is no legitimate TWRP for our device yet.

So you should go in "recovery flasher and rooter" option, there you have to select the only TWRP available, check if "only boot" is checked, check "root after boot", select magisk 20.4 and click on the button at the bottom of the page. The TWRP will be booted and magisk flashed, and then from TWRP you can manually reboot to system and your device will be correctly rooted.

Ok I used the all in one tool to flash the latest 3.3.1 test 2 and it works.

The fact that the TWRP do not persist and at each reboot it get overwritten by the stock recovery is normal, correct?

It's normal, i forced the tool to only boot the twrp for now, it's still a test
