From TWRP go to wipe and choose format, make dure all your files are ready on PC to reflash your ROM, TWRP, and magiskhi! i rooted with this maravellous tool. i want to format the p20 pro keeping the root... how can i do it? i did it several months ago and i dont remember! what is the easiest way?
i cant get into twrp ... i have to enter with the tool? because always e-recovery appear for me, not twrp.....
This tool can't be used to flash a stock factory image on huawei/honor devices
I have a problem with my P20 Pro. It's currently running the Chinese software, wanted to install some international ROM.
When I boot it in fastboot mode, it says the phone is unlocked. Same message in the OP Tool - bootloader unlocked. However, when I try to push TWRP operation fails, showing me the message FAILED: Remote command not allowed. Same error when I do it manually in CMD window.
I checked USB Debug permissions, had same problem as described in the forums with the button switching off. Leaving the phone plugged in helped so the button stays on.
What may be the reason of no permissions while trying to flash TWRP then?
Hey
I am trying to lock my bootloader. I get to FastBoot and it says FastBoot Device ready. Shows my bootloader as unlocked. When I click Lock it says:
FAILED (remote: 'root type is risk')
Finished. Total time: 0.008s
Press any key to continue . . .
Any idea what i need to do?

Yes your phone will brick. Before you lock your bootloader you need to have a full stock rom, stock recovery included and without root
Hi ! I get the same error when trying to relock my bootloader.....did you found what was the issue ? I am not rooted...

Hi, i am unable to lock my bootloader. I am not rooted, i am on a stock rom after using erecovery. I get that:
remote: root type is risk
Any clue ?
I had to:
Downgrade to 8.1 and relock it. Then upgrade to the beta again.
hi guys, a question ... to root the steps what are they?
1 - install drivers
2 - recovery flasher and root
Any more steps?
thanks
You need also to unlock the bootloader, but i think for huawei device root option will not work
hey guys, i think i made a noob mistake :
i just bought the mate 20 pro, i'm giving to my dad my P20 pro, but before that, i want to give him a clean phone.
So i went into TWRP recovery and did a factory reset, tiking all the boxes, it wiped everything, but now there is no OS, it keeps bootlooping.
I can still have easy acess to TWRP and i still can copy paste into internal storage via USB cable
Do you think by flashing a HurUpdate package it will flash everything back ????
I still have a 159 version package with me..
Thanks for any help, don't want to brick it, it's powered off for now.
just to clarify, I can relock even with TWRP installed? I'm on stock rom. Only thing I did was install TWRP, install Magisk, install some mods. Will my phone brick?
What's the go with relocking the bootloader? In the first post it says to "use carefully" for relocking? What do you have to watch out for?
I'm about to unlock (standard P20) and root but just wanted to see what the process was to get an OTA. I've read someone has been able to take OTA with an unlocked bootloader but is that true as everyone else has said stock recovery needs to be reflashed. Can you just relock bootloader or do you need to reflash stock recovery?
And sorry to clarify about relocking the bootloader, can you tell if it's been unlocked? Sorry I couldn't understand your reply before...
I'm coming from HTC 10 and quickly learning it's the wild west with Huawei!
