you can also use the group policy editor.
permanent change in windows from version 2000 / XP to Windows 11.

run command line as administrator.
type gpedit.msc, wait for the console window.

expand the "user configuration" tree - administrative templates - system - driver installation

Set code signing for device drivers to "on" and set the option to "ignore" in the drop-down box

Thank you very much for your work. It worked on my Samsung SM T580 Tablet. I followed this video:
I had to restart Windows (Shift +Restart) and Disable Drivers Signature manually
I also had to factory reset the tablet mid procedure has Youtube was asking for an update. Wiping data solve the issue and I was able to launch Browser.

The samfirm tool disables windows task manager after it's been run. I haven't found a virus, but can only assume that the reason for disabling task manager is something nefarious.

If you made the mistake of running samfirm, the command to reenable the windows task manager is
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    Hi @acasilver, thanks for the tool. I have a couple of concerns:

    1) Why is the code obfuscated? I attempted to decompile the tool with standard .NET decompilers and the result is heavily obfuscated class names and other properties. This is generally done for proprietary commercial applications or for malware, but not for a tool like this. It concerns me that the code is obfuscated as it suggests something is trying to be hidden. Would you be willing to open-source the application so that the code can be examined?

    2) Several antivirus engines throw alerts for the main .exe. Windows Defender says that there is a trojan embedded in it. I'm not saying that there is (it's quite possible it's due to code obfuscation triggering A/V), but can you speak to what is causing this?

    3) Related to item 2: why is an Internet connection required to use certain features of the software? When attempting MTP FRP, where nothing external is needed dynamically, this function will fail if no Internet connection is present. Why are Internet connection checks required?

    SamFirm seems to do what is advertised, but I'm a bit suspicious of it due to the concerns listed. Please let me know your thoughts.
