Hi,
I had a HTC one and knew how to root and unlock that phone.

I switched to a Xperia Z1 compact but I'm a noob for rooting / unlocking this device.

Before doing anything else I want to make a backup so I can restore it to its original settings if anything goes wrong.
Searching on 'backup Xperia' I found an explanation where you need to reflash the current os with the help of the Sony Update Software.
When that's done you can use this flashtool to make a backup.
In installed version 0.9.16 and found Tools - Bundles - Fileset decrypt and also Create.
Instead of 3 files as in the explanation I could find 4 files, I am able to decrypt them but when I want to create the bundle the device box
is greyed out but clicking on create I get the message 'Device, Version and Branding must be set', so I am stuck here.

I tried with an older version (0.9.13) but this one did not recognize my z1 compact.
So how to continue?

Use backup & restore provided by Sony...

Can someone be so kind to share the latest version of the Flashtool for Mac? I downloaded it from deposit files but its not the same MD5. And when trying to re download i need to be a premium user -_- the other link isn't working.

I don't mean to be rude, but if i hadn't done that already i would not be asking this question. Clearly i am no newbie that just came into XDA to ask these kind of questions. Obviously i have read the OP before asking.

It's downloading additional files, it happen when you use it for the first time

edit: nevermind. after rebooting twice and clicking like crazy, the dialog box openend. Don't know what the problem was, it worked...

just installed flashtool 0.916, coming from 0.9.15. I wanted to create a ftf for new xperia sp 205 firmware.

however, I can't. The field "Device" in the Bunde Creator Tool is non-editable. I cannot write or copy anything into. When I click create, it tells me that all fields have to be filed in.

Windows 8.1 64bit. Everything else is working fine, I can flash fts files, I can Unlock/Relock the bootloader...

Anybody else had that problem?
