Problem is that I cant get onto the market unless I login to my gmail account. I did notice though that when I went to flash my phone it was checked on wipe user data so I unchecked that and it worked :)

Thanks for taking the time to help me. Much appreciated

I am having the exact same problem as ottawadad34.
The APN settings are correct and I can access the web through my carries HSPA.
However, when I try to add my Google account, it tries to communicate with Google's server and times out after 3 mins and says this
" Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care"
This is happening on my ;
Rogers 10a
FW Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: 2.1.54
Kernal version: 2.6.29
Build Number: 2.1.A.0.435

Any help would be great, thanks!

try doing what I did. Flash your phone to where you can login to gmail and then when you go to flash to the other build, uncheck wipe user data in the top right corner when the firmware option pops up

I have found out actually that the APN setting after flashing was wrong. It allows basic net access only. I got it to work by simply creating a new APN with Rogers settings. This worked without reflashing or doing anything else.

Name: Rogers Internet
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
Proxy: Not Set
Port: Not Set
Username: Not Set
Password: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
APN Type: Not Set

This worked without reflashing or doing anything else.

How did you do that?
From Home Screen
Menu Button>Settings>Wireless&networks>Mobile networks>Access Point Names> Press Menu Button>New APN> enter info.

When you are done entering all info, Press Menu Button>Save

Then select it as your APN. Select/enter the other APN Press Menu Button>Delete

where can i find 0.2.3 flashtool? it can flash the *sin files...
The 0.2.5 can too ... you just have to create a bundle with your sin files before.

In Advanced menu -> Bundle creation -> point to the folder where your sin files are and add all the ones you want from left list to right list, give your bundle a identification (device, version, branding) and click OK. Once finished, press the flash button and you should have your bundle in the list with all sin files referenced in it :)

Great tool.
Installed the latest firmware with this and rooted it, installed JIT and xRecovery in a few minutes with this tool.
