Trying to repair my mate's X10i, it dies when running Software Updater from SE about 97%.

I can connect to SeTool and Flashtool, but can't seem to install a firmware, rom, baseband without it dying. I'm assuming the phone is messed up, but thought I'd try.

The log when trying the X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_CUST-UK GENERIC 1235-7379.ftf rom,

Is there anything I can do, or do I need to take it to a repair shop?

Maybe it is a battery issue. If ever you can try with another battery, do it

He recently got a new battery for it, is it possible without a battery? Anything I can do to verify the battery?

Can't load a kernel on to it at all.

02/058/2012 10:58:11 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed"

Hey, I'm testing some things at

mtd4 "msm_nand" and
mtd5 "userdate".

But I'm afraid of screwing something while writing and being unable to boot again.

Is it possible to write in this partitions from flashmode?
Can I use flashtool for this?
Can I make memory dumps with flashtool?

Probable solution

I downloaded it fine. Though in my attempt at flashing the multi-touch I clicked "customize" and "optimize" first and now my phone won't boot. it just sticks at the Sony Ericsson screen. I am on the 2.2 FreeX10.... did I do summut wrong? :(

I think there might be issue with kernel or wifi module, Try following steps and it might help you getting your phone back, thank me if it works

1) Download stock Android 2.3.3 (download version related to your region) from the link below and flash it using flash tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733

2) Now root it using flashtool and install busybox and CWM then you are rooted again.

I think you broke your recovery or messed up wifi module so follow my steps and it might help you in getting your phone back to working order, if it does then thank me :)

3) make sure to install some other ROM as some of these stock ROMs have issues.

What version of android are you using ? stock or one of the customized ROM ?

In any case try following method and it might help you to get you phone back

1) Download stock Android 2.3.3 ROM from link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733

2) Now plug your phone in flashing mode and flash stock ROM

3) Once flashing is finished use flashtool to root your phone.

4) After rooting install busybox and CWM.

5) Restart and you are done..
