Looks good. What steps did you use to flash TWRP?
Heh, I tried all 4 methods. First I used the Odin method but it stayed on the stock recovery. So I used Odin to flash CWM and that worked. I tried Odin again on TWRP but it stayed CWM. I then used cwm to install the rooting zip file, and then I used the dd method to install TWRP recovery. Rebooted, still was CWM. I then downloaded GooManager and told it to install the recovery scripts, it said it did, went into recovery, still CWM. I then downloaded the flashable zip file of TWRP and tried to flash it within CWM, still nada. I really did think maybe they swapped some partitions around or something. But now another user in this forum is reporting the same thing, CWM works but not TWRP, strange. I know TWRP installed on my production Note II.

bigpiff, i have flashed 2.3.1.3 and still no mount button? What is the problem? i have a i317m, you think there is differences from i317?
We currently don't support mounting /data/media devices over usb to the computer. I'm thinking of supporting usb mass storage for external sdcard but not sure because I would like to implement some mtp support that would work for both internal and external sdcard. This will take some time support.

The reason we don't use usb mass storage for internal sdcard is it is formatted ext4 and Windowscan't read it.

I know quite a few people had problems flashing with odin, has that been fixed? If the tar version with odin has been fixed or is working, I don't see the updated version for i317m for Rogers/Bell/Telus. I know there was one posted before, but I believe that version was the one which had trouble flashing through odin.

I know you could install it through goo manager, but prefer to have backup of stock rom without root first.

Thanks guys.

Guys just to be safe I want to ask....
I lost LTE after flashing CLEAN ROM. Before that, right after flasking TWRP I did a back up of my stock rom.
Am I safe just to restore that back up or better off trying to flash the stock Rom?

U could restore. Did u even try and add the apn ti the clean rom. Thats probably why u are not getting lte.

Yes I did but it does not stick. Always to the default one.
In any case I was able to move to a different area and I connected to LTE. Only about 11Mb compared to the 24 I got at best buy but that is likely just the difference in location.
Looks like is just my building a problem for connections but at least my Note 1 used to connect with better speeds on 3G than my Note 2. I hope I find a way to help this cause I like to stream games sometimes at work (sports that is).
Thanks, great ROM so no need to move away for me. :good:

ok just so i get this sraight, after flashing roms, never use the format data, jsut wipe caches and system and factory reset correct
If you are upgrading just wipe dalvik and cache. If you are changing roms then just factory reset which cleans /data without removing files from internal sdcard. Formatting data will clear the /data partition but this includes your internal sdcard.

Does the latest version, 2.3.1.3 from the OP, support exfat? We are debating this point over on the Q&A board. There are varying opinions. I just ordered a class 10 64gb SanDisk microSD card for 43$ from BestBuy, and I believe it will come from the factory pre-formatted using exfat, meaning I won't even need to reformat it to exfat before using it.

Thanks. I will.

My AT&T Note 2 is scheduled to arrive Monday, but my SanDisk 64gb card won't be here for another week. In the meantime, I will be using a 32gb card formatted to fat32. In the past, when I installed a larger card, I just powered down the phone and switched cards. Is there anything that TWRP, CF Root, etc... stores on the card that might make switching from the smaller card to the larger card problematic? I was planning to power down, switch the cards, and run a fresh backup with TWRP once the new card arrives. I only select system and data, right?

Exfat works. I usually backup boot, system and data.
