TWRP 2.8.30 crashes after double Data wipe

Please pull /tmp/recovery.log after it happens and post it here.
The steps to reproduce the error are:
  1. Boot into TWRP 2.8.3.0
  2. Wipe Data partition
  3. Wipe the Data partition again (or Dalvik Cache or Internal Storage)
  4. The tablet shuts down. You need to press the Power button for 30 seconds to boot again.

The above behavior occurs on TWRP 2.8.3.0 not on TWRP 2.8.1.1. I' ve attached the recovery log.
Also another minor UI issue. The "Download" button on the Reboot screen is misaligned too far to the right.
Also the Power Off button on Reboot Screen does not power off but reboots in TWRP.

Thanks for your good work.

The steps to reproduce the error are:
Boot into TWRP 2.8.3.0
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Restore an backup make with the 2.8.1..1 and reboot
The tablet shuts down. and reboot in a empty OS (like a first boot)
i've made the action more than 1 time

Hi, you will need to pull the log after the crash happens using adb. Thanks.

TWRP 2.8.3.0 for viennalte/sm-p905 reboots after wiping data+cache. No MTP available, as in previous versions. Reverted to 2.8.1.1

Sent from my SM-P905 using Tapatalk.
Hello,
I tried 2.8.0.0 for P905 that is on the official site but restore function does not work. I don't see the 2.8.1.1 version that you are talking about on the official site. Do you have a link for download? Thanks

Just downloaded and installed the new 2.8.4.0 recovery.

Looks like the external_sd backup and recovery issues are still present:

Code:
[BACKUP STARTED]
 * Backup Folder: /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/430091174c011123/2015-01-14--09-31-49 cm_v1awifi 5.0.2 LRX22G/
E:Unable to create folder: /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/430091174c011123/2015-01-14--09-31-49 cm_v1awifi 5.0.2 LRX22G (errno=13)
E:Failed to make backup folder.

and the SELinux status is "Enforcing"

Code:
I:operation_start: 'CommandOutput'
/sdcard/Download # getenforce
I:Actual command is: 'cd "/sdcard/Download" && getenforce 2>&1'
Enforcing
I will test Encrypted device later this evening and post results.

Full logs are on http://pastebin.com/uvaErYM9

Hi, can you test http://techerrata.com/bigbiff/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-v1awifi.img.tar with your exfat sdcard?

Ouch - not sure what happened, but I flashed the file (MD5 == 4c042e9f20a9cb9ebf098eaeaea39a4b) and it managed to wipe /corrupt the firmware overall.

Odin rebooted the tablet to a black screen (20 minute wait). Tried to reboot into Recovery with hard keys, black screen again. Rebooted into Download, Odin'd v2.8.1.1 (which rebooted directly into Recovery). v2.8.1.1 proclaimed there was no O/S installed on trying to "Reboot System".

Fortunately, Restore worked so no lasting effects...

TWRP doesn't touch any of the partitions on install. No idea what happened.

I re-downloaded the .tar, still the same checksum, still the same result on Odin flash.

Is my checksum correct for what you uploaded? (e.g. has my network connection, or the file service hurked the file somehow).

---------- Post added at 12:24 ---------- Previous post was at 12:18 ----------

Addendum: weirdness on flash I just noted. Almost faster than I can see, the "loader bar" on the Download screen starts to progress, but the tablet resets before it gets more than 1 or 2 "ticks" along. Re-flashing 2.8.1.1 I can clearly see the loader bar progress to the end before the reset occurs.

It also takes less than 3 seconds to "flash" the beta recovery, versus 7-8 seconds for 2.8.1.1.

Can anyone else confirm this please?
