Stock Recovery Won't Go Away

I'm using Odin3 v3.07 (even 3.09 once) to flash TWRP. I'm getting a pass in ODIN, but when I go into recovery, it is still the stock recovery. What am I doing wrong?

I've tried flashing both twrp-2.8.0.0-v1awifi.img.tar and twrp-2.8.6.0-v1awifi.img.tar

I have model SM-P900.

I tried searching this thread and google but no answers.

For 10.1 Tap Pro what buttons do I press to enter TWRP?

*Found Youtube video. Press Vol+ & Power.

I am having the same problem, but the "fix' linked to at the bottom of this post seems to be for something else, ie, it assumes twrp works, when it actually being installed is exactly the problem (odin3 v1.85, openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.0-v1awifi.img.tar, SM-P900 stock, unrooted, North American wifi only). Odin says "PASS" when flashing twrp, but the recovery remains stock...

It's really tricky. You have to make sure that when it reboots, you go into recovery before it boots. I couldn't time the button pushing, so I had to hold the buttons before actually booting and continue holding until it completed. So basically turn the tablet off. Hold the buttons to enter recovery and then turn it on while still holding the buttons.

screen brightness setting doesn't work

hi, I would like to request the screen brightness fixed if / when the next update is ready -- my screen (digitizer maybe?) is burning out and the entire screen will flicker-off at high brightness. the higher the brightness, the more frequent. low brightness it rarely does it. I don't want to worsen the problem :(

it does this in OS, recovery, and bootloader modes alike so I am led to believe it's not software causing it

I've tried decreasing brightness in recovery and it has no effect (even after a reboot). I have has issues with random reboots in the past with screen timeout enabled so I try to stay away from that. it was a different device with reboots but I'm still nervous about that

note pro 12.2 Wi-Fi

thanks for all the efforts! 2.8.7 is much better than the previous builds :)

Can you change brightness with the settings slider?
