Maybe you can help me, please! I am trying to get my Huawei Mate 9 off ver EMUI 8. I have loaded universal adb drivers, but when I connect my Huawei, to either USB3 or USB2, I see HDB Interface in device manager under Other with a warning. It is set to transfer files and the selective suspend is disabled. It is seen in File Explorer and I can access it that way. If I open adb and enter adb devices, it sees nothing. What am I missing?

Somehow, I figured this one out, thanks

Fastboot not working...

Device manager in Windows 10 sees the phone in adb - rebooting to fastboot no phone detected.

Tried to scan for hardware changes, disabled driver signature for win 10, changed usb ports, tried 2 other PC:s and one Mac, all the same! Of course I have tried numerous adb drivers, xiaomi usb drivers and so on.

Adb looks fine:

After running "adb reboot fastboot" the phone reboots to fastboot as intended.

Being in fastboot mode when I try e.g. fastboot device it gets into the < waiting for any device > state and nothing happens. therefore the "windows_fastboot_update_rom.bat will not work either.

I fell into the same conundrum a few weeks ago - until I discovered this work around.

    Requirements:

    Enable Developer Options & USB Debugging:​
    Code: 
    1. Install the USB Driver for your Phone or Universal Adb Driver.
2. On your Phone, go to Settings > About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
3. Now enter System > Developer Options and find "USB debugging" and enable it.
4. Plug your Phone into the Computer and change it from "Charge only" to "File Transfer" Mode.

7. Once you’re in the Command Prompt, enter the following Command: adb devices
8. System is starting the ADB Daemon (If this is your first Time running ADB, you will see a Prompt on your Phone asking you to authorize a Connection with the Computer. Click OK.).
9. Succesful enabled USB Debugging.

and once it says "waiting for device" plug in your USB Cable

8. Try another PC

3. After the Installation Wizard has completed you can select to start ADB & Fastboot++
