Stuck at the bootloader unlock step. After selecting the unlock .bin file, a couple of command prompt windows pop up, and after I close them, I get one saying the bootloader is unlocked, but it isn't. Any pointers?

Put your Unlock_code.bin in the same folder as WinDroid.exe is.

Hold shift and right click inside the WinDroid folder and click "Open command window here..."

Reboot your phone to the bootloader and select Fastboot (it will say Fastboot USB when it is connected).

Then in the command prompt use the following command: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

You will see the prompt on your screen and choose Yes.

Make sure you're on the latest firmware.

Thanks for the pointers. Did these that day and got it going.

I am getting an error when trying to download the necessary files. It's asking if I am running the toolkit as administrator. Not sure what to do to ensure that.

After clicking on "Get Token ID" it reboots into fastboot but then my computer says it's an unrecognized USB device and then nothing else happens.

No, on first start the toolkit automatically asks to download the necessary ADB and Fastboot files. Getting the toolkit working requires no work on your end. ;)

You are running windows 8 or 8.1. adb drivers need to be signed or something like that. also wont work with windows 8.0 or 8.1 and usb 3.0 which i have for all my ports lol. usb 2.0 hub wont work for me either. Trying to run the windroid program in a windows xp virtual machine right now... It's telling me that windroid is not a valid win32 application. I am at a loss here.... seems like your only option is to find a computer that runs windows 7 and do it on that one.

Stuck at recovery...

"Sending 'recovery' <8264 KB>
Okay [ 2.025s]
writing 'recovery'
FAILED <remote: image update error>
finished. total time: 2.032s"

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I have even tried different recoveries from the twrp website. I get this for everything.
When I try it manually I use: "fashboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img" <-- this is correct right?

"fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img" yes. Your bootloader is unlocked, correct? If you are unlocked, make sure you're using an .img file and not a .zip file.
