His bootloader unlocking method works just the same as any other. If your phone freezes with an unlocked bootloader, then it WILL. There is no solution for the freeze problem yet. We still have to keep on waiting. (Although I believe any efforts being made to fix that wretched problem is dead. I guess no one is working on it anymore. The best workaround for this is to just get a new phone. We're on our own, mate. Sorry.)

Did you install the ROM with this tool? How? I don't think this functionality is there in this tool.

Sorry for late, I wasn't time to look at the XDA, so, in Flash tab, you select the kernel file as "boot" and the Rom as a "system"... Just this

It was removed because it's not supported by fastboot:

  reboot [bootloader]                      reboot device, optionally into bootloader
  reboot-bootloader                        reboot device into bootloader

Yes, first boot.img then ROM.
It is supported on Zenfone 6.

Well, I tested it myself and it worked. Try using Bootloader Unlock to update your fastboot image then flash the CM image.
