Beta6 sure ? This issue has been resolved in Beta6 normally. When no loader found, FT prompts the user with the devices list to choose manually the connected one.

O woops i ve just seen the attached files how to do i exactly update to beta 6 with those files could anyone give me a noob step by step guide

sorry my head is royaly screwed

i ve added the tar file to the specified source but what do i do with the .jar file?

its still showing i m running beta 5

Probably you have PCCompagnon runing (or SEUS or Emma). Those tools hook the device before FlashTool does.

i m running flash tool through a virtual machine because i cant seem to get the windows 8 method to work for me do you think thats the issue?

I dont know ... it can be. Or device is disconnected from virtual usb

Get beta5 and apply this update (see attached file). Just replace beta5 x10flasher.jar with this update.

I use Linux Diskreader. You can give it a try

Xperia Arc - flashing not working

Maybe a bit off topic, but I tried this beta version to flash a ROM on my Xperia Arc and didn't work. I had to use a previous version (v0.9.0.0) to do the job.

So when I try to start FlashTool with Linux, I keep getting this error in terminal:

Flashtool:21938): IBUS-WARNING **: The owner of /home/ryan/.config/ibus/bus is not root!

And this error in FlashTool itself:

13/038/2013 19:38:03 - ERROR - Cannot run program "/home/ryan/FlashTool/x10flasher_lib/adb.linux": error=2, No such file or directory

With the error from within FlashTool it's odd because the file does exist.

It was saying that I need to activate the usb debug mode. However, I am sure that it was activate it.
Maybe it was just something about my computer or my phone, as it works for you.

I used this falshtool version to root XZL with 434 ROM. IMHO it's the easiest and fastest way to root XZL!:good:
I wonder if it roots new 253 ROM (JB 4.1.2)?

No it does not. Root exploit used for. 434 does not work on 253

For the time being, I'd recommend you guys try DooMLoRD's DooMKernel v7. You'll find it under Z and ZL Original Android Development. It works great for 253, it's pre-rooted and it also has neat features such as Fast Charge, UV OV, UC OC! :beer:
