Fisrt feed back of functionality: when I am trying to do a backup (before unlock bootloader and root) the Nexus9 display a little bugdroid on black wall with this indication "no commande" and no file is created on volantis folder.

Maybe I am not enough patient?

Yes it will interesting yes to get update ;)

It is because you need to install TWRP first in order to do backups!

I tried step one and the bootloader unlocked. I tried step 2, the program says it completed successfully but I don't have root. Also, I tried step 3, it says that TWRP is installed but when I boot into recovery I get a dead android with a "No command" title. Any suggestions?

I have the file with the updates, but XDA won't let me upload it. If you would like the update, go to the "settings and options" menu and select the "Update Nexus Multitool"

Once updated, it should show version v0.12 when you run the script.

I tried that before I saw the post. To be clear, I did the sudo rm -rf ~/Nexus-Multitool, then sudo ./Nexus-Multitool-v0.11.sh, then upgrade to 12. my version says 12 but it still doesn't root or install twrp.

My nexus 7 nakasi makes it to the unlock bootloader step, but pretty much everything else fails. Rooting it produces the message "your device is rooted" but leaves the Nexus at the bootloader, with the open android with an exclamation mark symbol, and when I start it rootcheckers say it's not rooted. Backups produce no backup file. Restore to stock does nothing and if I say it doesn't work, then fails to find the zip files. Basically it's not working. I'm using 0.11.

Thanks so much for this script. Still works like a charm on my Nexus 9 with Linux Mint 18.2. I'm very happy I didn't have to go out and find a Windows pc to root my tablet ;)
