When it comes to rooting and flashing any device there are certain inherent risks involved. However i did everything i could to make sure it was safe. As long as the md5s match then the download was good and you should be good to go. I have used it on a few diff shields several diff times testing it as i was writing it.So, is this 100% safe to use?

You have to use device manager to install the drivers I included a short writeup in the OPOk, but it seems like i need the "naked driver" to use it... but there is no exe in that zip or anything :S How exactly do i use it?
Is there a video for how to "install" it?You have to use device manager to install the drivers I included a short writeup in the OP
I couldn't tell you to be honest, I would check the naked driver thread, if there's a video I'm betting it's linked there. Is there a video for how to "install" it?![]()
Yeah its mentioned in the ram.exe im goimg to try and update it asap each time nvidia releases an updateWhat version does the restore image go to? OTA 68 or what?
Yeah thats not a problem and would be really easy to implement. Lately ive been really busy and havent had a lot of time to sit at my pc. But yeah i can put that in for the next release.Just a thought, but I personally prefer Koush's Superuser, as it is more modular and seems to have less issues between versions. Maybe you could add a function to choose either Chainfire's SuperSU, or Koush's Superuser. Not telling you how to do it, but I know that other toolkits I have used have had a similar function. Let me know what you think. Also, the ZIP for that is on the app's Google Play Store link:

That is the stock recovery. Installing the update should work fine. Please help, I can't flash the stock recovery back, well actually I can and I get a message saying that stock recovery has been flashed, but I can't seem to access the stock recovery. When I try to open the recovery it only shows a picture of the android mascot with a red triangle on it's chest. I want to flash the stock recovery so that I can download and install the Kit Kat OTA update that will be released tomorrow. Thanks in advance to any help![]()
Just to clarify, I don't see any menu or options on the stock recovery that I flashed just the android image that I described. I have to hold the Nvidia button to turn it off, Is that really normal? That is the stock recovery. Installing the update should work fine.
@OP, I assume you'll update your toolkit for the KitKat update?

Start on cw : switch on your shield and immediatly press home+NVIDIA +back, after
Press back for up to recovery and clic ok with NVIDIA, the shield reboot and you can to see the cw

Zip on chainfire website, run shield ram, install drivers adb&fastboot, unlock your bootloader, install cw and run it, install zip from sd card for super su. Zip, fix root, restart, enjoy![]()
