Update Available for Nexus Player device module 1.2.7 [ALL Users]

Changelog:
+Added Support for Android 7.0.0 NRD90M and NRD90R builds
+Added above STOCK firmware AND OTA images to download/flash directly from Toolkit
+Updated everything in Toolkit to work with new firmware zip files from google (checksums, unpacking)
+Added much improved Drivers section in Startup [DR] and Toolkit Main Menu
+Improved Root file checker/downloader at device module startup

PRO USERS can just start the Toolkit as normal. After you have selected your device you will be notified there is an update available and can auto update. SIMPLE.

Non Pro users have a few extra steps.
1. Exit the Toolkit if it is open.
2. Run ToolkitClean.exe from the intallation folder (or the Start Menu)
3. Select option 62 to update the Toolkit base to the latest version with root update bug fixes and improved drivers screen
4. Select the device from the list
5. Type ‘y’ or ‘yes’ (without the quotes) to delete the existing module files and settings for the device
6. Restart the Toolkit, select the device and new module files will be downloaded/installed

Please let me know if everything is working as I have done a lot of work on this version. If the Toolkit tries to detect your device and gives the message 'error: no devices/emulators found' then the installed drivers aren't workingin that mode. Follow the steps in the Drivers Section to uninstall the driver in the mode you are in and replace it with the Google adb driver. It should work then.

If you want to donate to a device project please do it through the Toolkit (after selecting the device at startup) or from the link at http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=703 so you get the right code fast and can update to the latest version. You can also go ULTIMATE mode now and unlock ALL device modules for the lifetime of the Toolkit. Follow me on twitter at https://twitter.com/mskipxda for posts/updates.

Enjoy, Mark.

I was having some issues flashing the 7.0 NRD90R image to my Nexus player. I then used this Toolkit and tried to the flash the same image. I did this just in case I forgot to do something, as I could not get the 7.0 NRD90R to boot for anything. (Bad image on Google's servers or?) So I attempted to flash the first 7.0 NRD90M image, and I was still having problems getting it to boot. So then I tried the 7.0 NRD90M using this toolkit, and everything installed and booted up perfectly the first try! It saved me some time and definitely some headaches.

As far as auto detecting my device, it would not do it right away. When I first start the toolkit, it never detects my device, I have to manually pick it. Once I get a couple levels deep in the menus, then it sometimes would auto detect. The only time it seemed consistent on detecting was the very last screen before committing to flash.

Thanks for sharing your awesome work with the toolkit, and I would recommend it to everyone.

When do you think the boot image can be made insecure? Would like to root Marshmallow without installing recovery.

Or was this option included as from the V1.2.0 version?

Its very hard to make the boot image truely insecure now. Right now I do not know of any method to do it.

would love to try your toolkit.. But it looks like there is an error on your website, and i cant download the toolkit. Or am I doing something noobylicious?
There was an error with my download manager but it was fixed (after paying out for a new version) and should work fine now.

AutoUpdate Available for Nexus Player device module [PRO Users Only]

I had to buy a new laptop and whole new set of programs to make/compile the updates as I lost everything when my hard drive crashed and took out my pc. All this cost me £600 which I had to scrape together and why it took a few more days to get everything done. Updates should come thick and fast now but I have no money left. Im not begging for handouts but if you have ever found the Toolkit useful and want to give back you can send me anything at https://www.paypal.me/mskip. I wouldn’t be saying this unless it was critical and my family and me (and the Toolkit) will be very grateful for anything.

Changelog:
+Added Support [including root] for ALL BUILDS up to and including May 2017 builds
+Added ALL above STOCK and OTA images to download/flash directly from Toolkit using option 9,1 [firmware download/flash] or 10,1 [ota download/sideload]
+Updated Toolkit base to 1.6.0. Updated app versions and improved functions
+Toolkit will automatically disable all server pings if they cause any trouble with downloads
+Added direct link to google download site in factory image downloads section
+Improved some Main Menu functions

I uploaded public device modules last month to support March and lower builds so if you are not a pro user and do not want to donate you should still be able to use the public build to download a new image from google servers, then use the toolkit (selecting the latest available build) to work with it.

If you find any of this useful PLEASE donate to a device project. You can do it through the Toolkit (after selecting the device at startup) or from the link at http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=703 so you get the right code fast and can update to the latest version. Hi,

I just received a refurbished nexus player today and am excited to unlock/root. Elsewhere in the NP forums it says that there is no root method for 7.1.2. Can you (or anyone else in lurking around) please confirm that the toolkit can root the current may build?

Or, if the player is on an old build, can i root that and upgrade without losing root?

Thanks for any info on this!

To be honest I havent looked at the forum in a while so im not sure about lack of root on 7.1.2 but I will look in to it and post back. If you downgrade the build to 7.1.1 then you can root but root is lost when you flash a new build so unless you want to stay on a slightly older build to get the root its not worth downgrading.
