According to Wugs twitter, we should have some news regarding the updated version... I've been waiting for so long! Haha

Yes, Here it is ;) Version 1.6.3 is up now and the updater package is also live via the in-built updater. Enjoy!
(Updated changelog coming shortly)

Thanks wug... Great work, notice you changed the interface... Would it be the same steps as it was before if not mind giving a run down? Thanks again

No interface change, I just showed both interfaces in the OP. The one with lots of buttons is the advanced utilities interface. The main interface is still the familiar one and the advanced one now just has some more features.

You are the man WUG!!!!

It just worked !! But sometimes you need to plug devie out and in again to get the RSA promt :)
Right, just so you know.. there is a checkbox on that RSA prompt so you can have it always accept adb connections from you machine. Glad to hear it worked well for you. Cheers.

Ive been having fits with my nexus 7 devices that I have been rooting.

this latest 1.6.3 will unlock (a couple of attempts) but when I get to root, it goes into bootloader fine, says its sending over files. then I get "rooting instructions"pop up. Team win recovery project stuff.

?? What is this? I never get another screen. The nexus is stuck on the bootloader screen says "booting downloaded image" and that screen never goes away. buttons dont do anything, unpluggin it does nothing. a very long hold of the power button will finally restart it.

Ive tried 1.6.3 on both 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 both have the same result. have also restored to factory. same result.

Any help?

Make sure you are specifying the correct device and build in the toolkit. Maybe you have a Nexus 7 3g version? Or you are selecting the wrong build? You can always use 'Any Build' mode for your device instead to root it, but I have a Nexus 7 and I can assure you it works if you specify the correct device and build in the toolkit.

Other things to try would be reinstalling drivers, trying an alternative usb port, or if you wan't, just use 'Any Build' mode instead.

ill take part blame since I had my version screwed up after the update. but all is well now in that section now

Now, I am completely unable to unlock. it goes through the process as normal, looks like its working but never comes to the restart bootloader screen im accustomed to. device boots back up but no changes have been made and is still locked. I have updated the drivers, rebooted the pc and the tablet a few times, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and uninstalled all things google/nexus related in usbdeview. Ive done dozens of these, im not sure where I am going wrong now

ive also now tried anybuild. same problem

Hey Wugfresh help please

Hi Wug
Just installed version 1.6.3 of your great toolkit on my Nexus 4 and am having some snags. I am running 4.2.1 rooted and cannot seem to update to 4.2.2. I have tried to use the advanced utilities and flash the 4.2.2 zip file. I get as far as the point where I boot in to TWRP recovery where it seems to stop and go no further. I then rebooted the phone and tried to do the "flash to stock and unroot" option. This takes me to the screen attached and then once again it goes no further. :(
The phone is showing that it is in fastboot mode with start at the top of the screen. Any ideas whats up please Wug?

First of all: THANKS WUGFRESH, I rooted my Nexus 4 with 4.2.1 and now with 4.2.2 in 10 min with no issues. You're the man :D

I just rooted, not installed any custom recovery, as I wanna be OTAupdateable (just root for minor tweaks, backups with titanium, and that stuff)

Now, two questions:

1) Can I make a Nandroid backup now? Wugfresh toolkit says I can, as far as my nexus 4 is unlocked (it is) and rooted (it is, too), and offers a way to do it. Do I need any custom recovery to make a backup or Wugfresh will do it even if I have the original stock recovery? Having a custom recovery is a must to do nandroid backups, as some people told me? Making a nandroid with WugFresh will work, even if I have the original stock Recovery? Could I restore it later without, again, having to install a custom recovery?

2) Busybox. What differences are there between a rooted Nexus 4 with Busybox installed (as I am) and a rooted Nexus 4 without it? If I uninstall it now, what happens? Still root? Brick my phone? I need BusyBox for my minor tweaks?

I read somewhere here in xda-developers forums -> updating BusyBox to a new version causes stock original Recovery to brick your phone. So, how can i update busybox? I really need to or can go without touching anything? (wugfresh 1.6.3 installed me a BusyBox that is not the last, but I don't really care).

Thanks!

im still completely stuck Wug. my nexus 7 3g will not unlock. all looks normal, but it never gets to bootloader screen and it just reboots and nothing has changed. multiple units, multiple attempts at model type and version. 4.12 and 4.22, wug 1.62 and 1.63. uninstall/reinstall drivers etc etc. im lost. it was working perfect the past couple mos.

also, the hold down power + up&down volume to get to bootlader screen does not work.
