Yeah, I was going to suggest that it's time to update that op. The update was a pleasant surprise for me. I was just testing it and decided to check for an update and - bam! Everything working great over here. Thanks again Wug! :good:
Yeah, I will get to that today. My bad. I need to just write myself a macro for updating all the forum threads.. Lol. Would make it so much easier.

one last thing

ok I m about to root my device and most likely to install PA Roms but one thing just to make sure. is it recommended to upgrade my nexus version to the latest or it wont make difference?
I have read about a lot of people having the multi touch problem on the latest official build. I'm currently on JWR66N

Hey guys trying to root my new 2013 n7. I have the WiFi 32g model. I got the nexus root toolkit downloaded. Now under model type. Wouldn't my version be Nexus 7 v2? Does v2 version 2 as in the new n7? That's all I really need to know at this point. Thanks

It's very common.
I'm surprised that, as Linux doesn't have these driver issues, one of the very smart and creative developers doesn't incorporate the tool into one of the bootable Linux distros, thereby eliminating the vagaries of the different Windows and iOS versions and variables.
Boot from CD/DVD/Thumb drive right into a Linux environment and all of the tools are there, for either manual or automated unlocking, rooting whatever.
Could probably form the base to do this for any device...
Wish I had the knowledge or skills, or the time to learn them.... :(

Unlocked and rooted

After many attempt on installing the right driver either PDA or raw drivers did it. only thing I didnt do was to confirm the debug from nexus which kept me looping.
Thanks :good::good:

Is it just me or does it take forever to restore the backup T_T
It can take forever.. Especially if the backup is big. I would recommend setting it down and doing some else for a little while and checking back later..

"watched pot never boils" kinda thing.

How to root Nexus 7 4.3 2 without unlocking bootloader?

Wug, A few days ago I used your toolkit to successfully root a Nexus 10 on 4.3 with a locked bootloader by selecting Launch under Advanced Utilities then temporarily booting to TWRP (custom recovery button). Upon recovery I installed SuperSu 1.51.

I'm trying the same with a nexus 7 2 on 4.3 but the tablet never boots into TWRP so I can't root it. Is this functionality actually working for the Nexus 2?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I can't get the unlock to work. says fastboot device not found. I have all the correct drivers installed and followed everything correctly. I can boot into the bootloader and reboot all by the program, but it just won't unlock. the program quits seeing my device once it goes into bootloader mode

I'm gonna try to not go into full panic mode and ask questions first. I used the toolkit and didn't even get further than driver installation and while it was rebooting the screen just shut off and no combination of keys (vol up or down and together with power button) will turn it on. Fastboot or ADB don't see it but the computer recognizes something is plugged in when i plug usb.. wtf do i do?

EDIT : this is a nexus 7 2013 FLO.

Charge it for a few hours. Then hold down the power button for 30-40 seconds.
