Just a word of thanks to Wug for his toolkit. I finally made the move from Nooks to Nexus, buying my N7 last Tuesday. It seemed great at first. In less than 48 hours, however, I started having problems with WiFi connectivity. The next day, when I booted up, it froze at the Nexus logo. I tried a factory reset, but the problems returned very quickly. So, I found this toolkit, rooted my device, and flashed CM 10.2 and a custom recovery. My device has been stellar ever since, except for one brief moment when the touchscreen became sluggish. A reboot seemed to fix that.

Again, many thanks for making a great device even better!

Ok, downloaded the latest toolkit and it will not find the latest adb drivers. I followed directions and uninstalled all the old drivers and chose option 1. For whatever reason, I can't get the device to connect to adb drivers.

Edit: Think it's working for me now. Backing up now before unlocking and rooting.

Did everything work out for you. Are you unlocked, rooted and custom recovery.

I`m goin insane here right now, I got my Nexus 7 32 (2013) LTE today and can`t for the life of me get the drivers installed & the device recognized.
I cleaned up all the devices, installed the #1 drivers and the device doesn`t get recognized. USB Debugging is enabled, MTP is not checked ... any advice?! I`m kinda desperate by now ...

Try a different driver solution like the RAW drivers.

i've the same problems with my lte nexus.

now i tried the raw drivers...but on step 6 the tablet is not going into bootloader mode "fastboot device not found". the first 5 steps are ok.

EDIT: Problem solved. In developer options i checked "deauthorize usb debugging". after that i received the RSA-Message for the first time (i didn't received this message at the inital setup)!

My Nexus 7 2013 LTE is now unlocked and rooted...thanks WugFresh!

One wish...on the busybox-step you wrote the we have to change the install-path to /xbin. You mean /system/xbin, right?? I'm not sure what you really mean.

Nice to have...a info window with the adb syntax you used (during the whole setup process)

Works for all nexus devices with one kit.
Fast updates for everyone not just people that donated.

This model seems to really support this community and its ideals.

There for you get some money from me. Donation sent.

I will re-donate each time I add a new nexus device. ( I buy them all )

Glad you got it resolved! I have never seen that "deauthorize usb debugging" setting, can you snap a screenshot of that? What build are you running?

Yes, I meant /system/xbin , sorry my bad.. that's an easy fix (will add that change to 1.7.3). Regarding the info window, I really like that idea. I will try to implement something like that.. it would be cool if it looked like a cmd prompt window almost. It would be neat because it would be more transparent for those who want to learn how the program actually works. I could make a user option to disable/enable it as well. Thanks for the suggestion.. I will see what I can do. :)

Cool. Unfortunately no matter what solution you use, whether it be a toolkit or manually via the sdk, you still have to configure the drivers. Its a Windows thing. I tried my best to provide detailed instructions and numerous potential driver solutions. As much as I would like to there is really nothing else I can in that regard.. Unless people have suggestions for how I could make that guide clearer. Cheers. :)
