Im giving this thread a slight bump.

I just bought a MHL adapter for my S2 and I have the exact same problem, there is some response from the screen but it is very choppy and slow.
Playing videos/games works great and the back/menu/home buttons are as responsive as they have always been.

Anyone know how to solve this?

the touch screen problem accurs dues to electrical interference from wires/chargers in near proximity to the phone screen. The problem is only when the wires/chargers are faulty. (not is usage per se but causing the interference)..

the phone screen being capacitive - is prone to anything electrically conductive (including electrically charged air near it).

when you use the MHL adapter... try dragging the phone away from other clutter as far as you can ( keeping it still connected obviuosly)..and see if the problem still persists...
