Indian variant here, with shenchao panel, touch latency issues are there typing scope faster makes it scoep and also 4-5 times out of 10 times typing qt makes it tq
I have installed screen protector though

Issues are similar to my friends pocofone
Looks like they learned nothing from poco and it's display problems.

I'm having this issue when using the Google keyboard. For the first few seconds it works fine, but after 5 sec or so, the keyboard start lagging and the filling isn't comfortable.

I have a RN7PRO chin version 6/128gb with indian global ROM 10.2.8.0.
The screen looks to be nt36672a with no protection on it

I hope they wil fix in next software update because it is a very annoying issue!

Just updated to 10.2.8.0 rom. I was hoping it would somewhat fix or make touch problem better. Nope, it is still the same. Due to the touch issue, the phone is very annoying to use.
I am wondering if using a custom rom would fix this. Does anyone know if that would work?

I recommend to everyone to go to settings and send feedback (last option at the bottom) about this latancy problem. Hopefully, they will fix with the next update.
If the will not fix it, I'm sorry to say, I will sell this device and I will buy something else.

Just got a MIUI update, 10.2.10.0
It seems to be slightly better but the latency is still there.
Hopefully next update will finally solve the issue but, please guys, report the issue (go to settings, last option is feedback) otherwise the problem will be here forever!!

No issues here

I've done the test and there aren't any problems whatsoever. Touch latency is working flawlessly. See the attached screenshot.

My device:
Redmi Note 7 Pro (China Variant)
ROM: MIUI 10.2.8.0 China Stable
LCM Information: nt36672a video mode dsi shenchao panel
Screen Protector: Nillkin Tempered Glass (0.33mm)
Vibrate On Tap > Light

Using a redmi note 7, screen lags behind my finger when scrolling on many apps. One game seem to be working fine idk why. Is it a software problem?

I apologise that I didn't mention that the same word had to be typed 10 times consecutively and the same was to be repeated with the other word. Regardless, if it works fine for you, you clearly do not have the said problem which is good for you. It is disappointing for those of us who paid the exact same money yet still had to choose from what seems to be a lucky draw and can't replace their phones because Xiaomi don't acknowledge this as an issue.

Further testing

I've tried it again and it seems to work well for the most part. Typing "scope" seems to work better than typing "qu" though, leaving aside the typos. Typing "qu" sometimes ends up as "uq" and I think this qualifies as a latency problem. I definitely pressed "q" first instead of "u" every single time, so it's not a typo. This however never happened when typing "scope". I only pressed the wrong first and second letters a few times.

That happens with me for scope as well as qu. Sometimes wakanda also comes out as wkaanda on typing fast even though I feel I certainly pressed the words in the correct order.

Just realized that I have a typing problem too on the redmi note 7, not the pro version but the screen is the same. Sometimes the words on the screen just seem to lag behind my finger a lot. Is it a software problem?

On my device, there is a problem with latency at the edges exactly as it was for pocophone f1, watch the video
https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/...m_source=share
And the developers fixed it in the MIUI version 8.12.13
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/help/8-12-13-fix-slow-touch-issues-t3878767
http://en.miui.com/thread-4885974-1-1.html (Fixed: Touchscreen responses slowly(POCO F1))
I hope that it will be the same with the redmi note 7. Now our task is to convey this to the developers so that they can take action as soon as possible.
it would be great if someone created a thread on mi forum with this information.
Im sorry for my bad English.
