Yea I'm on koasinate 2.2 and I have to say I'm reverting back for some TW action. (Do all cyanogen roms run adw?)When they fully get froyo working ill go back. Hope to some day have froyo with TW. It actually has flavor vs plain old android. Don't get me wrong AOSP works well but I think TW looks and feels better.

The blood bath known as Chicago IL.
@chopper.....Hey...is that single clock/date/weather widget on your homescreen?
it looks really good.
I hope un-rooted phone like mine can have one.
The clock is "simi clock" and the weather is "beautiful widgets" 1x1 with no background.

How did you get to group icons like on the iphone?
App called "folder organizer".

good day.

It seems like I've started new trend... Well I had heavy party yesterday... :)

Not koasinate, Kaoscinate. Kaos + Fascinate.

I too love Touchwiz and wish I could find a way to stick with it. I have been using an apparently little-used or at leat little discussed launcher called TAG - it allows me to have one applauncher page with everything, one that's just games, one that is comms stuff, etc. They are organized in tabs at the bottom of the launcher. Def not as pretty as touchwiz and I miss some of the widgets, but the tabs (aka tags) are great.

Apps also default to alpha order, but you can prioritize if you want as well

No, I am in no way a dev of this thing, just thought I would share. I agree TW is pretty and the paged launcher is a step in the right direction, but I wanted a little more.

Just thot some of the TW users out there might wanna give it a shot - free in the market - so the price is right!

As you can see from my stats I am a long time lurker. I jumped ship from winmo a few months ago. This forum has helped a lot so thanks all.

I also like Touchwiz. it always seemed like the people that hated it just REALLY hate the iPhone or they don't like the widgets. Outside of the widgets, Touchwiz is an awesome interface. It's actually one of the main reasons I purchased this phone.

Coming from using Sense and AOSP, the design and functionality of Touchwiz is simple and clean. The design is aesthetically better - all the fonts and numbers look great (especially compared to AOSP). Then there are other things Google doesn't implement in AOSP, such as a T9 dialer, notification drop-down shortcuts or SMS/Voicemail notifications on the lock screen. The T9 dialer is an important time-saving feature to me. And every time I look at an AOSP dialer, it reminds me how far behind Google is in updating up the UI. It doesn't matter if it looks like an iPhone or not - if it looks nice and it works well I'm with it.

MIUI gets honorable mention as well - they did a good job. I tried ADW EX and it's close... some of the advanced settings work on the main screen, but not in the app drawer. There are some design inconsistencies that I'm not liking. Go Launcher is okay as well, but it's a little buggy and is missing some options for me. I want to give some of the other apps+launchers mentioned in this thread a try.

Google really needs to take a look at what other Android developers are doing to make the UI better and implement those updates in their own code. Forget streaming music from the cloud, can we get a dialer that isn't from the first version of Android?

Apple is about form, whereas Google is about function. Given the choice, I would take function any day, because looking good and going nowhere means you're still going nowhere. However, I do wish Google would try a little harder in the UI design department.

Sounds like we're talking about women... Apple is the pretty one who doesn't cook or clean. Google cooks, cleans and will even give you turn-by-turn directions, but could really use a makeover.
